Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claimsespecially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claimsis unknown or unknowable.

I don't think there's an actual middle ground here, though. Either he believes or he do not; either he is an atheist or he isn't. Agnosticism is a quite seperate matter. You can be an agnostic believer and you can be an agnostic atheist.

I don't see why it would be such a big deal if he is, coming from myself as an Episcopalian Christian who finds his videos extremely entertaining, and I'm a believer of Christ (out of personal choice, even though my upbringing did have something to do with it) I really don't care about the religious beliefs of my favorite celebrities. Hell, even though I'm an Episcopalian, I'm a fan of Tom Cruise as an actor, and Tom Cruise is an outspoken Scientologist. My favorite actor is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and he's Jewish. An athelete I admire is Muhammad Ali, and he's Muslim. My favorite comedian is George Carlin, who was raised Roman Catholic, but became an outspoken athiest until the day he died.
However, just for the hell of it, I guess I'll at least try to guess, and make an educated guess, for that matter. I remember back in 2007, shortly after discovering the Nerd after watching his Top Gun NES review (which was my first Nerd video) and I came upon his website, Cinemassacre.com. Now, of course, Cinemassacre has changed and has been redesigned quite a few times since 2007, so it is very possible that this particular article I'm going to talk about doesn't exist anymore, but I remember reading about his experiences as a filmmaker, and he got to this one part when he talked about a film he did when he was in grade school for his World History class, doing a report about famous inventors, and he chose to do his on Galileo, and he mentioned that his family is mostly of Italian descent.
Now, from my experience of people who come from countries in the Romantic language group (i.e. French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian) and their American (in Mr. Rolfe's case) descendants, and most people I know who have Romantic ancestries were born, baptized, and raised Roman Catholic by their parents. I could be wrong, since I don't know the man personally, but that would be the most likely conclusion.
However, he once put up a blog post on Cinemassacre talki238ng about how he has nothing to do with the ads on his site (he was getting criticized by people for having ads relating to the Church of Scientology on Cinemassacre) and he said that he has just noticed them and was working hard to remove them, since he tries to remove ads that have anything to do with religion or politics from his site. He could be any religion, and yet chooses to keep his religious beliefs private. He may be an Internet celebrity and make a very entertaining show about video games that I enjoy, but even I think he's entitled to have a private 5b4life as well.
So, I think we should stop talking about whether he's an athiest or not and just sit back, relax, and enjoy some Nerd vidoes while us Nerd fans wait patiently for the upcoming Angry Video Game Nerd movie.

Indeed. His beliefs, or non-beliefs, really shouldn't matter. And he does try to keep such matters out of it, which I respect. I don't think he wants to offend anyone.
Well, come to think of it, though, Super Mecha Death Christ 2000 BC Version 4.0 Beta probably offends many a Christian.

Ummm, who even cares? Why is it such a big deal? What, you're going to stop watching his videos if he isn't an atheist? You guys sound like retarded little girls. "Oh I'll only like him if he's an atheist because atheists are so cool! Hur hur hur!"
Honestly, you guys just keep making yourselves look more stupid all the time. -

Honestly, you guys just keep making yourselves look more stupid all the time.

I'm fairly sure he's agnostic if not a very very liberal Christian. I think most extreme Christians would see depicting Jesus as some kind of blasphemy. However when he talks about making 'deader the better' he does say about how creating a scene in a real life cemetery would be sacrilegious. He also calls Santa "Satan".

I wouldn't mind knowing, I don't really care whichever, his videos rock, his facial expressions and anger makes me laugh all the time, and he's a very inspirational type of person who loves to make movies, I mean you should watch that one video on how he made his movies in the old daysit was friggin' rediculousbut I don't think of him as much of a religious dude or anything it didn't sound relavent to his childhood from what I saw, but I could be wrong.
I'm an atheist by the way, and atheists ruleand so do agnostic atheists.

He's mentioned Jesus a few times in the two Bible Games episodes, and by the sound of it, he at least has some knowledge of the Christian/Catholic religion. There's no doubt he's most likely Catholic, considering where he's from and all.
The whole sacrilegious thing could him just not wanting to offend people who see it I suppose, but it could be him too. I do recall reading he was a Christian/Catholic somewhere on the old Screwattack forums238, don't take my word for that though.
I don't think it's really about "he's a christian, I'm not going to watch his videos anymore!". People always want to know about as much info as they can about the people they respect, because they are generally interested. Wanting to know the religion of people you respect usually goes along with an interest in religion.
