His negative comments about ballet and opera hurt his career

I had no idea ballet and opera was an industry so full of sensitive crybabies they would want to destroy the career of a talented young actor over some very mild criticisms.
I thought old school traditionalists who indulge in these ancient arts were thick skinned and robust.
Where is the stoicism?

I don't care what Spielberg or anyone else has to say on the matter.
Timothee Chalamet has done nothing wrong and does not deserve to have his career harmed over some very mild comments regarding ballet and opera.

Timotheé knew what he was doing when he made those remarks. He meant to offend and punch down on other art forms. It was mean and unnecessary rude.
Timothee even said that he would lose fans.
Well now he will lose work.
He insulted other artists. Of course those other artists and their fanbase is going to be offended. And anyone else with a brain is going to be offended. -

Both arts take years of serious training and practice.
Little Timothee may not want to work in either of those forms of the arts. Fine, but most people, including most actresses and actors respect the opera and the ballet because both are the beginnings of their own art… the art of acting.
You would think that Timothee could at least appreciate that.

He's making an economically valid point. Both ballet and opera are not popular enough to survive without public funding. He, being a man of the people, prefers to concentrate on the vulgar art of film acting rather than catering to the snobbish tastes of the upper classes.
