Electric full house tonight, a wet Tuesday and we'd strongly second Charles Isherwood writing in the Times on November 8 - and add that she is VERY funny:
The flickering of those stage lights barely registers beside the incandescent Nina Arianda, the sensational young actress recreating the role that made her a name to watch when she first starred in the play Off Broadway.
Portraying an actress giving the audition of a lifetime, Ms. Arianda is giving the first must-see performance of the Broadway season, a bravura turn that burns so brightly you can almost feel the heat on your face..
Ms. Ariandas performance is so electrifying that a lesser talent than Mr. Dancy might fade into the scenery.

The only similar explosive arrivals I can recall in our 20 plus years of Broadway would be Natasha Richardson in Cabaret, and Cindy Lauper, who she says she admires. Someone compared her to early Streisand. -

Only confirming what I've said since last spring when I saw her in Born Yesterday.
Nina, meet Tony. You two have a date in June, 2012.
Brava, brava, bravissima.
And to those who haven't yet seen the show-GO SEE IT! -

Unfortunately for Nina, Stockard Channing is currently giving the best performance of her career in Other Desert Cities. She will most likely be Arianda's greatest competition come Tony time this year.
Having seen both shows I'm slightly divided, but I give Arianda the edge. Channing was great in a very good show. Nina Arianda MADE Venus In Fur what it was - from that great entrance to that shocking final scene, she set the stage ablaze.
