I couldn't 16d0tell if she was a boy or a girl the first time I watched the show. I hate the haircut. Some people look good in ultra short hair, but not her.

Her hairstyle is most likely not her choice. Most commercial entertainment companies want androgyny in their product. This is just one of the many stages the product will go through as it is mass marketed.

My guess would be she either A) likes her hair short and is willing to get extensions for roles that call for them or B) keeps her hair short because for some reason Hollywood believes that ingenues have long flowing hair and edgy, serious girls have short hair. She might have been encouraged to get her hair cut to help her get roles like the one she got in Detachment.

She does indeed have striking features. She's gorgeous. Beautiful brown eyes, cute eyebrows, full lips and I like the pixie cut. She is exactly as you say. adorable!

Samis hairstyle is not new. Maybe a little shorter over her forehead this is the hairstyle made famous by movie icon Louise Brooks. And she, ms Brooks, invented it.

@Bo-Ulrich.finally someone gets it right. However LB didn't "invent" the flapper girl look, she perfected it..:). I'm of the opinion that Sami is a lovely girl, wearing a hairstyle that few girls or women can pull off, but not just another pretty face. I just saw Detachment, and was blown away by her performance. So being the curious george that I am I looked for some recent interviews, and discovered that she is light years ahead of her age with the way she approaches her career as well as her life.

I agree. That hairstyle simply doesn't suit her. When I first started watching, "Blue Bloods," I wondered,
Wait. Is that a boy or a girl?

I think that her hairstyle suits her just fine, she looks great. There's nothing masculine about her features. Quite the contrary, she's very girly, and very pretty, in fact. I don't see how anyone could possibly mistake her for a boy.

I can. It's a combination of being a little bit stupid, trying really hard to see it, and a dash of "wah, someone isn't conforming to my particular stereotype of gender appearance."
WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.
