Anna (the interestingly dark Taissa Farmiga, The Bling Ring), a troubled, hunger-striking sixteen year-old described by her wealthy mother Michelle (Saskia Reeves) as gifted, and by her stepfather Robert (Richard Dillane) as haunted. It is testimony to the quality of Farmigas performance that Anna is quite clearly both.
Farmiga neatly straddles the ambiguities that Annas character has been loaded with, primarily that between innocence and danger.

The biggest thing that Anna has going for it is Farmiga, by a long stretch. The actress, already appreciated by younger audiences thanks to her roles in American Horror Story and The Bling Ring, is given one hell of a role in the title character, who is both unnervingly intelligent and stealthily malignant. Farmigas measured 5b4delivery and emotive features are used to superb effect; simply put, Anna wouldnt work without an actress of her obvious talents. She plays a worryingly convincing psycho, reminiscent of a blend between Orphans Esther and The Silence of the Lambs Hannibal Lecter.
Anna succeeded in creeping me out. And watching Farmiga and Strong, two skilled actors when viewed individually, achieve a thrilling chemistry is an unadulterated pleasure.
But forgive the film its trespasses, and youll be rewarded with a terrific, terrifying performance from Farmiga, and a solid way to spend 99 minutes.
Taissa Farmiga gives a spectacular, spine-tingling performance in Anna, and that should be more than enough for viewers to look past this thriller's weaknesses.

though the presences of Mark Strong and Taissa Farmiga give ANNA a boost, the film is ultimately undermined by predictable plotting and a handful of "twists" that don't surprise nearly as much as the movie would like them to.
Perhaps their best asset are the faces of Strong and Farmiga; the former's masculine, intense face well contrasted by the latter's unusually doll-like features. Indeed, the film is at its best when it's just the two of them conversing and matching wits.
It's too bad ANNA ends up being so average, since it'd be a real treat to watch Strong and Farmiga engage in their head games in a better movie. As it is, their persuasive performances make Dorado's picture a watchable but unremarkable by-the-book thriller.

Takes more than a pleasing appearance to be a good actress. I'm glad she's not going to appear in Freakshow, anytime she is casted she just ends up being in a pathetic love story with Evan Peters. I agree that Emma Roberts is annoying though, in Coven she was artificial, hopefully she has a different kind of role this time. As long as Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson are in it, I'm excited for the next season!

Seriously? I couldn't disagree more. Taissa is a talented actress and she has great chemistry with Evan Peters. Granted, I'm very biased, because I want to eff Evan Peters and hug Taissa Farmiga. I think they're both awesome.
Emma Roberts was great, too. I hated Madison, but she was a great character. -

I also hated seeing Marie Laveau die and go to hell. Horrible as she was, I effing LOVED watching those misogynist pig witch hunters get blown away. Oh, boo effing hoo. Women have power that you will never have. Scares you, huh? Boo hoo. Die, misogynist pigs. DIE.

she ruined season 3 , I haven't watched season 1 though maybe she ruined it too.
however totally loved season 2 and 4 , clean of her. nobody needs her , she is not important for such a good show as AHS, they have plenty of great actors like evans , lange, Paulson , -

blair, TAKE NO NOTICE, they don't like her, we do, can't change each others minds but we have seasons 1 & 3 to keep enjoying, they can keep moaning about something no-one is forcing them to watch anyway !!
For whatever reason, Taissa's there, GOOD LUCK TO HER, life for her haters will have to be unfair for now, (good) !
