If David Thewlis were at least 10 years younger, he would have been an even better choice. As in b-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t. But I'm expecting a good-to-great performance from Cumberbatch.

Cumberbatch was ridiculous in "The Fifth Estate".
It should have been Jeremy Renner.
But since "The Fifth Estate" was a dirty piece of disinformation and US propaganda
and one of the biggest bombs ever, there will never be a good & fair WikiLeaks
feature film for a very long time.
That's probably a good thing.

Jeremy Renner would not be good at all. Assange is gangly, Renner is stocky. Assange seems awkward, Renner is charismatic. The only known actor I could see is Peter Sarsguard. I think though it would be better to wait until Assange dies and cast an unknown Australian.
