Haters gonna hate. This kid is a great actor, finally a young spider-man close to the Peter parker during high school becoming spider-man. I've seen this kid's amazing work and he definitely is a good candidate for the next young Peter Parker Spider-man.

Wrong again. Sony is making it but Marvel is in charge. Kevin is the one who chose Tom. He is the one who wanted a teenage Peter Parker. He is the one who picked the screenwriters and the director. He is calling the shots. And since this is in the MCU they aren't going to let it fail. You are an idiot

The difference though is that Tom Holland actually does seem like an Ideal choice for Spider-man and there really have not been too many complaints about him unlike Ledger who was a very different choice for Joker and many questioned whether or not he would be good

People said the same about Michael Keaton, Christopher Reeve, Huge Jackman, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Grant Gustin, Chris Evans, and countless number of characters. They have all been wrong.
