It's a sad story what became of those brothers
Only one is still living. Most committed suicide when young

I've watched several docs about different professional "wrestlers," and they are interesting people who have led interesting lives, and they frequently do die at a relatively young age. By 'relatively young' I mean long before the expiration of the average lifespan.
I suppose the combination of booze, pain pills and steroids (among other things) is unhealthy in the long term. -

True
At least one died by overdose and a couple brothers died by shooting themselves

Yes, those are the brothers
The first brother died by accident. Electrocuted by touching a live wire when he was just a boy
The others died by suicide except one who had encephalitis
Only Kevin is left

I think one of them ODed. If I am thinking of the right wrestlers, I think it was the smaller one. I remember watching a conversation with Ric Flair on YT once, and if I am thinking of the right wrestlers, he was talking about a match that they had choreographed, but the other wrestler (I think it was the smaller one) was wasted when he came out to "wrestle" and totally screwed up the choreography that Ric Flair had planned.
I think one of them died of enteritis when he was "wrestling" in Japan; I think I remember that from a movie about them, so if that was the source, I won't swear that it was accurate. Someone once told me that one of them died from toxic shock, but I don't know if that is true either.
Regardless, the family seemed to have been cursed. -

You're right, he was in Japan when he died
Kerry lost his foot after a car accident and going back in the ring too soon. He killed himself

. . . this got me interested enough to do a google, and wiki says:
David died on February 10, 1984, in Tokyo, Japan. The US Embassy's death report says he died of acute enteritis.[24] Ric Flair wrote in his autobiography, To Be the Man, that "everyone in wrestling believes" that it was a drug overdose that really killed him and that Bruiser Brody (a fellow wrestler who found David) disposed of the narcotics by flushing them down a toilet before the police arrived. Mick Foley also claims that David died from an apparent drug overdose
and that
Mike [Von Erich] tried returning to wrestling after partial recovery. He continued to compete despite lack of mental coordination and strength. After an arrest for DUI and marijuana possession, Mike took a fatal dose of tranquilizers and alcohol around April 12, 1987
and that
[. . .] Chris [Von Erich] was the youngest of the Von Erich family. With his short stature (5'5”), asthma, and extremely brittle bones, which were prone to breaking, Chris was never able to achieve the success that his father and brothers achieved.
[. . .]
After several years of not being able to succeed in the wrestling business, Chris became depressed and frustrated. He was also heartbroken over the loss of his brother, Mike, and experienced drug addiction. On September 12, 1991, aged 21, he shot himself in the head. [. . .]
So I think the one Ric Flair was talking about was either Mike or Chris, and since the Wiki article says Chris never really made it to the big time, I think it must have been Mike.
