Do you think she's a good actress?

She's not a bad actress per se, she was pretty great in Paper Towns, but she's not on the level of some models turned actresses
Abbey Lee for example blows Cara out of the water with her roles in Mad Max and The Neon Demon
And I find myself comparing the two massively as they're both supermodels trying to act, sadly for Cara she's not that great an actress, whilst Abbey Lee is basically a flawless dramatic actress, surprising

She's awful and for some reason she's getting a total pass for it. Guess maybe because she started out as a model but all of t5b4he news stories about her recently are about how she wore a green t-shirt while walking her dog or whatever not about how she ruined a $400 million dollar movie.

I'm not the type to diss actors on their acting skills because some actors are just better in certain roles and it wouldn't feel right to judge them on one movie alone and also, I don't really follow this actress.. but her performance in Suicide Squad wasn'1c84t the greatest. I don't know, every time she was on the screen watching her body oscillating back and forth made me laugh.. I couldn't take her character seriously and what made it worse is that she was one of the main villain in the movie.. I mean I do love some good villain who can provide a good laugh (Joker-The Dark Knight) but not when it's non-intentional

LOL I definitely blame the director for the oscillations. But after watching her in paper towns and suicide squad, I agree with the people who say she's got potential. There's definitely intent, since she is taking it seriously. The problem is the roles she's getting aren't allowing her to grow. Her team wants to just toss her out there in our faces until we accept her as a star, which is cruel because how can any actor succeed without those fundamental building-block roles? In my opinion, her managers need to take her down to the indie scene where she can get her pick of good challenging roles to build her range. Take a year off and travel to Asian and Russian cinema, go to the festivals, get connected with fresh scriptwriters and stay far 5b4the hell away from the blockbusters for a while. She's not ready yet and all these high profile roles fall short because you're tossing someone with limited experience into a sea full of sharks.

Is anyone a "good actress" these days? We have photoshop, film editing tools, stunt doubles and cgi. Yes, Cara is very pretty, but there are a million other pretty women. So, to rise to the top in the acting world, you must have some skills, ability, and connection. Looks and popularity aren't the only thing studios look for, sometimes its whoever best communicates the film. Whatever the case, she is going to ride this surge in popularity and make as many films as she can, because unfortunately, actresses have a shorter life span than actors.
