I have to disagree. It may seem like she's being pushed, but she's not. She's just the natural star of the 5 kids and the best actress. She just has that it factor that everyone loves. It's not easy to evoke emotion without words and at the tender young age of twelve, she's a natural. If you go one YouTube and watch the vids that reveal her real character such as one with her brother and signing autographs you will see that she seems very sweet, caring girl with a personality you won't see in other kids. Your entitled to your opinion but there's no mystery as to why this girl's a star. She's mesmerising. And on top of everything you've got to remember, she's only twelve years old. She won't be perfect. But to me she sure does seem close. To be honest, after I watch her, it makes me dislike other actresses more. She's proving that being a nice caring sweet young lady can get you just as far in hollywood as being an attention starved stuck up. I love her

Nothing happened, she's the same girl than the one you saw and love the first days after watching Stranger Things, it's all in your head fatzke (and others).
Do you know she often visits kids with cancer without telling anyone about it? (I mean on social media)
people get so protective about her, it's not normal anymore.
You seem to criticize her for having too much success and love, and for her fandom. That is not a sane reaction from someone obsessed with her. Do you think it's her fault? Also don't forget there are a lot of kids. I know you love her and that's exactly why you are disappointed, you need to really think about it IMO. For months now you always write negative comments about her on this board. What makes you want so much letting everyone knows how disappointed in her you are? Why just not leave if she's annoying, stop following her on social media and just wait season 2 of ST to see her act?
        I completely agree with BlairBale12.

i find it a bit early in life and career to do those things, because it's really sad and heavy stuff.
But she wants to do it, nobody force her. I think it's one of the things that keep her grounded, and sweet. I prefer that she spend time with sick fans and make them happy for a moment, than the big events like the Unicef stuff. Even if it's for a good cause, it's still a big fancy event with lots of celebrity and photographers etc
i'm sick and tired of all the "Queen", "my children" post on social media.
Every crazy fandom is a bit silly, there is a lot of kids/teens and bored women. Plus you see mostly the crazy fans who talk to her on social media every day etc, but not the many fans who are more mature who just doesn't talk to her, or less frequently.
But I still think it's wrong that it affects how you feel about Millie. It's not her fault how people talk to her, she never pushed the fans in this direction, never called herself Queen etc She's more mature than that and you know it.
they should thoroughly reflect on all those failed photoshoots and music videos instead of getting applause for that
What's wrong with music videos? And she did only one I think?
Photoshoots I see what you mean, but she couldn't avoid this stuffs, and it's how kids fashion is nowadays, but it's still no her fault, you can blame the magazines, stylists, her publicist, manager or even her parents if you want, but not Millie.
And the boys did photoshoots too (and music videos).
The only thing I don't like is the commercial for a bank. But again it's a decision of her team.
and if Millie can live up to the expectations.
I'm not worried at all about that. Some people probably wondered the same thing after Intruders. And it will be great to see her again in Eleven after a year of happy and outgoing Millie.

OMG a 12 years old girl is "quite childish", what a good reason to hate her!!!
              making trademark red carpet poses
It's her personality, it goes with everything else, she's afraid of being boring and always want to make things interesting (from the acting to the real life), you can't expect her to just standing there while photograph by dozens of people for several minutes.
And saying Millie isn't "professional" is the stupidest thing I ever heard.
Seriously what's wrong with you guys?

Maybe people are overstating her talent <<<
I don't think so. I think Millie is very talented and intelligent, but still very childlike and I'm sure this contributes to the over the top persona that some people see in her. She has received a lot of fame in a very short time, and given her age, if she seems a little unprofessional at times this is not only understandable but forgiving. I didn't see any struggles in her performance, she almost makes it look too easy. In future projects, if or when we see a bad performance from her it may be that she is bored with her character. Hopefully she will have the opportunity to choose the roles that are appealing to her, and not be pressured into taking roles that are less interesting.

And she has to be professional only in her work, and without question she is, in everything she does. Beside that she only has to be herself. I'm fed up with people who wants actors to be absolutely perfect (and what is perfect?) every seconds of their lives. They're persons, like you, not robots.

It's typical of child stars that they're unusually intelligent and well spoken for their age. Still, they don't
                        always
behave like little grownups. Millie is a bubbly and outgoing twelve year old kid - she's a 6th grader folks, why is anyone surprised when she acts it?

A few months after the show came out I started to get annoyed by her. I thought it was all going to her head. Looking back on it I realize it was a kid coping with sudden fame. I think she's grown in to it well. She isn't perfect, she is still a kid, and as time goes on I think she will cope with fame better. She isn't getting all this recognition for nothing, she's a super talented actress and that isn't in any doubt. I think for a kid with sudden fame she is handling it as well as anyone could. When I was twelve I was in my school play and got plaudits for my performance and it went to my head a little. Now, Imagine MILLIONS giving you praise you mean to tell me that wouldn't go to your head a little? It would go to your head A LOT! I know it would for me, I'd handle it much worse than her, I'd think I was gods gift to acting. She's handling it very well given her age! Cut her some slack, she's a kid.

And if all the recognition goes to her head, she becomes arrogant and full of herself, starts acting like an obnoxious diva, goes on social media praising her own talent and giving us commentary on everyone and everything like she's the smartest person ever to walk the Earth, she can always run for President.

I always defend her when I see things like this, I think it's because I feel sorry for her in a way. She acts like she's having the time of her life but I think in real life she must be exhausted. The other day she did an interview on Ellen and she actually said this (about how she got into acting): "my dad's business failed, and he came to me and said, 'ok so (the family) is all depending on you now'"
Do you know how old Millie was when that happened? She was EIGHT.
I know that when a celebrity becomes famous, people hate them, it's what happens. But it has been getting really out of hand lately directed at Millie. Yesterday she posted a very short video of her doing something just for fun (choreography from a Sia video) and she was bashed and insulted. She responded with maturity and positivity and eventually had to delete the video.
I always am saying this, but I have seen so many comments from people that met her and said she was really sweet. If you watch her comic con panels, she is very kind to all her fans. If you pay a2000ttention to how she responds to praise about her acting, she is ALWAYS grateful and humble. I think the criticisms people throw at her are unfair and it's saddening. She is confident and has a sense of humor. Were people expecting her to be as quiet as Eleven? I wish the boys got as much media attention as her too, I really do. This was really long but my point is, remember you don't know her personally and if you are looking for a celebrity to judge, maybe don't pick a 12-13 year old. And keep in mind what her dad said to her when she was only 8

I saw the Ellen interview and was saddened by that part of her story.
The shocked "WOW"! from Ellen might indicate the reason Ellen was so 'off' during the rest of the interview.
That is not something you say to someone as 'formative' as an 8 yr old, even in jest.
With her vision, hearing and kyphosis problems, she has walked a hard road, for any age. Yet, she is as charming, sweet and ,yes, powerful as anyone I know,
                                    on-camera or IRL.
And, to any who would say they 'hate' a 12 yr old,,,,
                                    Just shove it!!!

Yes, I think that Millie's father is the real problem here. According to rumors he has already gained the reputation of being very demanding and greedy. So let's hope he doesn't ruin his daughter's career that way.

I shouldn't have said the criticisms against Millie's image are all unfair, because I think people have a point in seeing her photoshoots as problematic, and maybe the way she is made to look older on the red carpet, though at least there she looks classier. But of course she tries to act older than her age! She is naturally mature, which is fine, and on top of that has been pressured into saving her family from bankruptcy since she was 8! She has not been raised or treated the way a child should be treated because it sounds like her father looks at her and sees only dollar signs.
I just find it frustrating when people attack her character. I loved her performance in the show and I'm not surprised almost everyone else did too but it is a shame that the media and everyone went THIS crazy over her. Because her father and management have had her everywhere and of course people are going to get tired of hype and then turn to being judgmental and hateful. Just because from everything I have seen, Millie is a genuinely sweet person who treats her fans very kindly, but who just happened to get famous very fast. I could honestly provide multiple examples of interviews where she has shown a very grounded response to being praised but OP if you see this you're gonna have to take my word for it because that is a lot of effort haha.
If people really find her personality that annoying, I think 5b4they should just not look at her videos and find something else to do. Your annoyance should be aimed at Millie's parents and managers, not at Millie herself. What happened to her on Instagram the other day was terrible. People were saying all these awful things to her and she was trying to respond to them in a polite way to show it wasn't bothering her but they just were relentless.

When it's not Millie it's her father. So you guys really need someone to hate or criticize, even if you don't know the person AT ALL. It's ridiculous.
