I must admit I didnt fully appreciate her on
Poldark
(partly because her character wasnt exactly the most likeable sort, and partly because Eleanor Tomlinson's Demelza just blew every other female character out of the water on that show), but obviously Sabrina Bartlett mustve left some impression on me, because I sort of recognized her face when watching Season 3 of
Da Vincis Demons
on DVD these past couple weeks (I just finished the last two episodes tonight). I couldnt quite recall what exactly I recognized her from and only realized after checking her IMDB credits.
Anyway, I felt she was far better utilized in
Da Vinci's Demons
. I wasnt quite sure what to make of her at first, but it wasnt long before I was enjoying her friendship she developed with Lucrezia when being held captive. Even better was her dynamic with Leonardo. Sabrina and Tom Riley played well off each other and I bought that they were siblings (or half-siblings, as he later theorized). What I enjoyed about them together was how she saw things like Leo did, but in a different way. I enjoyed them figuring out how to interpret what they saw and build the machine (as I saw someone else say: So, Da Vinci and his sister invented electricity? Sure, why not? by the end of the series, I was accepting most of the craziness anyway), then testing the machine. It showed how smart she was, and she was also brave and had a fun dynamic with Zo (his reaction upon learning she was Leos sister was great, as was the two of them teaming up).
I was really ticked off with
Lucrezias
death in the final (but had learned about it ahead of time, and so was somewhat preparednot that it helped much), but at least Sophia survived and got to join Leo with his other two mates in the final scene of the show. Ill now be keeping an eye out for Sabrina in other things. Im really glad she got to be a part of the final season of
Da Vincis Demons
, as she helped contribute to my enjoying the third season more than I did Season 2, which I found rather lackluster after Season 1. Im sure theres plenty of people who didnt like the final season (this usually seems to be the case with shows), and no doubt haters of the Sophia character, but who cares? I thought she was awesome.

She is, and in a way that you instantly recognize. She doesn't have one of those generically pretty faces. I didn't like her character much in Poldark (Keren was an unlikeable, ungrateful brat), not that that's anything against her acting, but I instantly recognized and liked her brief role on Game of Thrones (season 6 finale, won't spoil the rest). Would love to see her get more work.
