Yeah, so that "WETA Effect" vid I posted last week about the problems with modern CGI somehow went crazy viral and was on Reddit and Slashfilm and in a bunch of blogs and newspapers. So I did a follow-up vid.
I went over things like the IMDB rating for movies and the Wisdom of Crowds, how the "WETA Effect" applies to people who grow up with this style of movie CGI, and some of the flames from people. Including the VFX community. Don't know what the reaction will be but at least it will be up to clarify a lot confusion and rage.

So, if I understand correctly, the Weta effect is that an increasing amount of CGI corresponds to an increasing amount of audience detachment, right? Or something like that?

Did you? It didn't seem all that clear or in depth. To what people are you referring and what exactly are their general sentiments or behaviors?

The fact that people become outraged when they're confused is a whole other problem. It would help if there were something to guide them away from confusion in the first place. How many people actually understand you?
