AudHep in "
Wait Until Dark
" by Bond director Terence Young.
When this movie ran in theaters, theater-management deliberately doused all the lights in the audience-trafficked areas of the building. Late-comers to the show were not allowed to enter during the climactic final sequence.
Maximum effort was taken to give advantage to the plight of the heroine, who is blind, and the predicament she finds herself in.
It's a super thriller.

As wisdom has it, '
Less is more'
. No far-fetched galactic empires; no silly super-powers.
The scariest monsters are found in everyday, ordinary people all around us. True demons are inside ourselves.

Please do.
Frankly, it's astounding to me to hear someone confess they're unaware of this title.
I myself am not a follower of horror movies but to me, this is like hearing someone say that they've never watched, '
Frankenstein
' or '
Dracula
'.
Reason: Alan Arkin plays not just one villain in this movie, he plays three separate villains all in the same story.
It's one of the most flesh-crawling performances in crime cinema. Essential not just for horror but simply as a showcase of acting talent.
Not having seen this is like saying you haven't seen him play the deaf watchmaker, in '
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter'
, a role which stunned even Brando.
