Sounds like a depressing story. But I do like Alan Arkin. Have you seen
    little miss sunshine.

      Alan Arkin
He creates one of the greatest villains in cinema history.
Behind-the-scenes in Hollywood that year, it was almost considered for an Academy Award nomination.

          As wisdom has it, '
          Less is more'
. No far-fetched galactic empires; no silly super-powers.
The scariest monsters are found in everyday, ordinary people all around us. True demons are inside ourselves.

I'll give it watch , because I'm intrigued about him playing a bad guy.

              Please do.
Frankly, it's astounding to me to hear someone confess they're unaware of this title.
I myself am not a follower of horror movies but to me, this is like hearing someone say that they've never watched, '
              Frankenstein
              ' or '
              Dracula
              '.
Reason: Alan Arkin plays not just one villain in this movie, he plays three separate villains all in the same story.
It's one of the most flesh-crawling performances in crime cinema. Essential not just for horror but simply as a showcase of acting talent.
Not having seen this is like saying you haven't seen him play the deaf watchmaker, in '
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter'
, a role which stunned even Brando.

For me it depends on the film genre. I can watch comedies, dramas and adventure films during the day, but crime flicks, thrillers, science fiction and horrors I watch exclusively when it's dark.
