I don't like that he does despicable things based on the emotions he is feeling at the time. Sad he got dumped? Oh let me slaughter some people. It's incredibly weak and unattractive. He acts out more than a 4 year old.
I also dislike that his life revolves around Elena wayyyy too much (and Katherine, previously). Like, sometimes he does things to save his friends/brother, but mostly it's about Elena. It's not cute when your man is low key obsessed with you.
Another thing that makes me hate Damon is the fandom who defends everything he does. I am ok with liking bad guys, but you can't pretend they're the hero.

I don't hate him, I have never hated him. I hate Stephan more than Damon. At least Damon is honest that he is selfish. Stephan tries to be good but when he is bad, he's uglier than Damon on his worst day.
