I kept watching after the 4th season but after Dana got sick the show became too serious and lost its spark of fun and wit . That's why I gave up on it, but I remember the first 4 seasons as being some of the best entertainment I've ever seen.

There are many, but one that immediately springs to mind is
The Sopranos
. I watched the first season and that was more than enough. It's the ultimate "I don't care what happens to these people" kind of story. If you're going to make a show where every single character is incredibly unlikeable, then the characters should at least be interesting, but none of the characters on this show are, least of all Tony Soprano. If I wanted to watch a bunch of violent, brainless animals kill each other, I would just go back to prison.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
