Yes I know what you mean. Also I know it sounds corny but I liked that Lily was clearly a vampire, Herman was clearly Frankenstein’s monster, Eddie was a werewolf and Marilyn was a normal human. Equal representation, ya know?

The Addams Family by a country mile.
The Addams Family were genuine nonconformists. Witty, subversive, kinky ("Tish, you spoke French!") and unique.
The Munsters were just workaday normies albeit with abnormal appearances. Take off the monster makeup and they'd be just another dull sitcom family. -
