The Addams Family was based on the cartoons in The New Yorker magazine, pop. Not a ripoff.
The Munsters were a ripoff by CBS (I believe) to cash in on the popularity of the AF.

Munsters. Never really got into Addams Family. Also Munsters played in reruns like nonstop in my area whereas Addams wasn't really aired too much.
