The long running TV series made in the 60's and re-broadcast throughout the 80's, called simply COMBAT, (I'm not shouting, I remember this title in striking red capitals on a black background).
I watched this on TV as a youth and was impressed by the depth & range in storylines, great acting and enough action to keep it faithful to the title but I think most of all the show addressed issues such as battle fatigue/shell shock (now known as PTSD), the discipline required for duty and other emotive topics or sub-plots without leaving a bad taste in your mouth after watching each episode.
For all those that have served, to all those who serve today and all those still to serve My deepest respects.

      3 personal favorites -

      1. NAKED CITY
      2. THRILLER
      3. THE FUGITIVE
        Great Writing & Acting
        Excellent Casting
Many later movies & TV ripped stories and plots from these.
Hard to say, I guess NAKED CITY rules .

The Beverly Hillbillies (up until the last 2 or 3 seasons) - It constantly made me laugh out loud, something few other series managed to do

There were so many great shows during the '60s, it's hard to choose. It was the best TV decade ever!

I agree with "The Twilight Zone." That it premiered on October 2, 1959 and its first dozen episodes were first broadcast before the turn of the decade is just a technicality.

Bonanza was the show my parent always watched, espeically my father. But, I used to watch the reruns of Star Trek, The Munsters, and Get Smart.

Finally, someone mentioned "Get Smart," one of the funniest shows ever. It's also my fav w/Andy Griffith Show in 2nd.

I hate it when Im singing along to a song, and the artist gets the words wrong.

Yeah, I liked that show as well. I always tried to whistle that themes song, but could never get it right
For some reason, I used to whistle the Gomer Pyle theme as well, but couldn't that one either..

Nearly all of the spy shows, from the ridiculous (

). The world was just a more fun place back when these types of shows had their cachet.

The Prisoner was one of my favorite series as well. But when you look at the premise, it is more ridiculous than sublime.

I wouldn't call The Prisoner ridiculous. Many aspects of the show were quite farfetched but the over riding theme was always serious. Bizarre or surreal might be a better description.

I found what was then called a "midget" running around in a bowler hat and giving orders more ridiculous than serious.
