The theme song perfectly captures what makes the show so dang cute!
Notice the bit at the 51 second mark where Eva just tears into her newest! She is hysterical!

Extremely funny! Even today, it really holds up.
I love these "fish out of water" type of stories.
Check out the movie, Funny Farm, if you haven't already.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I probably like the similarly themed, Petticoat Junction, a little better. But yes, it was a decent show. Arnold the pig was the highlight for me.
Eva Gabor was surprisingly sexy for a then middle aged woman. The guy that played Zeb only just recently passed away. In real life he was a farmer, and was studying to become a doctor, prior to becoming an actor. The actor that played storekeeper Sam Drucker in both Petticoat Junction and Green Acres (who was already old in the 60’s) surprisingly passed away not too many years ago. He had to be almost a 100!
This series, Petticoat Junction, and many others, were some of the many fine series that fell victim to the “Rural Purge” that took place in the early 70’s.

Yes, my classic tv junkie friend told me about the "rural purge" (what a colorful phrase! I will have to start using it every chance I get.) and the networks adjusted to the changing times with much more sophisticated viewing fare such as "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (my favorite, with the most wonderful set of characters), "All in the Family" (funny show, though the characters can get shrill) and "Mash" (never laughed once)

Ha! Yes, I suppose so. I've always been a night person and really have to push myself to get on a healthy sleep schedule. Plus, I don't have to work tomorrow.
Ever since I saw "Taxi Zum Klo" I have wanted to go to Berlin.
