Born 1990, and not really a big fan of the 2000s (I really should have been alive in the 1970s, everyone who meets me says I would have thrived back then), but there are several things of the 2000s I'm fond of.
The Gameboy Advance SP is a great handheld, and I still play its games fairly often. The Wii is very underrated, and revived my interest in console gaming. I've been re-playing its games lately. Nintendo DS was another fine system, although I admit its 2010s replacement (3DS) is far superior.
I do miss the final years of mainstream film cameras. In fact, I just bought a 2001 35mm film camera on eBay. I hope it works. I also miss Agfa (which is only a brand name these days, the original company is gone) and the now-defunct APS film format.
Some of the early 2000s Nickelodeon shows were decent enough, some of them even first-rate. But wow, that channel declined badly (and its decline began in the late-1990s). By 2004, it was pitiful.
When do you think there will start being TV shows and movies referencing or set in the 2000s, especially the early-mid 00s? (2000-05)
But even now, there is very little in terms of modern works set in the 1990s. 1990s nostalgia still lags behind 1980s nostalgia, and I'd rather see 90s nostalgia develop more fully. 1980s nostalgia is felt by nearly every age group, only 1990s kids feel 90s nostalgia.

Last gaming console I had was a PS 2. šŸ˜› I loved playing Tomb Raider II. (Even though I know that came out in the 90s.)
I grew up on Nick in the 90s. I don't remember when I stopped watching the channel. But I know now it is painful to watch All That, my 4th grade self thought it was so funny but gosh, watching it as an adult makes me cringe!!!
I think the 1990s nostalgia will last a little bit longer, it's just I think by 2020 or 2021 we might start seeing the '00s gradually start to make a comeback. Because usually the nostalgia crazes runs about two decades behind.

Not sure if anyone cares, but that 2001 camera I mention above turns out to work mostly fine (though the auto-exposure failed on two of the photos).
To be exact, it is the Fujifilm Zoom Date 70, aka Fujifilm Silvi 70. Not to be confused with another Zoom Date 70 which came out in 2003.
Camera is a typical early 2000s point-and-shoot 35mm film camera: autofocus, auto exposure, the ability to imprint the date on the negative, motorised film advance, and a zoom lens. It takes better photos than most of todays phones, and unlike todays phones, it doesn't spontaneously combust.
The early 2000s did benefit from Michael Jackson still being alive (his "Invincible" album is underrated), I could still buy Tarax lemonade, Australia still made cars, facebook hadn't been invented (whoever invented it should be shot), and my favourite shop, Video Games Heaven, still existed.

Facebook came about in '04. But do you remember when it was only for college students? I had never heard of it until late '05 when I started college. It used to be so different then.
Now it seems like it's only good for posting memes.

2021 about august. Only because points in the system have to match up then
In reality most likely just the sport car industry or Jennifer Lopez album "this is methen" and cell phones
there really is no nostalgia because in the early years they were just living off of nostalgia. If you really look back on 2001 it was suppose to just be a remake of the 1980's. They'll never tell you but it was a flop back then because they didn't have enough fabric too keep it going. I mean by 2002 we were just living off of 90's nostalgia.
It will only last from 2021-2023
and I think the rest will just go or come from re runs of Desperate housewives if were lucky.

Right now they are in 80s decade with the movie remakes. I have a feeling the 90s is next in a couple of years, and maybe around 2030.
I love the early 00s I was 17/18 in 2000s from there to 2006 went by so fast. After that the years slowly started to suck.

I think it's kicking in now. I mean, we are two years away from a new decade, and I'e seen people on the internet nostalgic for the 90s during the late 2000s
                I must reverse my life
I can't live in the past
                Then set my soul free
                Belong to me at last

80's nostalgia has just kicked in over the past few years, it might be a while before the 2000's nostalgia starts up.

I would give 2000s nostalgia another good 5 to 10 years.
When "That 70s Show" was big, it was depicting the 70s error in the late 90s in mid 2000s.

                            It already has.
I've seen in magazines like Allure and Cosmo that have some Y2K style, and even movies like Lady Bird and Turning Red take place in 2002.

I'm already seeing it and it disturbs me. Like the way people are feeling nostalgic about 3rd wave emo and calling it elder emo. Elder emo is bands from the 80's like Rites of Spring amd Embrace.

The 2000s, I like the term noughties, are already the good old days. Covid and Biden have guaranteed that.

In this current environment, I'm mildly relieved that no series on US TV is revisiting The 2000s or the early 10s. Most of the runtime would be devoted to lecturing us rubes about how "problematic" those days were, and how much better our hyper-censorious and infantilized age is
