        Friends .. began in the 90s but was obviously popular in the early 2000s, too.

          I think certains shows peaked during that period, but started before.
          For me, they are Becker and Everybody Loves Raymond.

            I kind of think Reba is a good example. Ran from 2001-07. They have flip cell phones, make references to MySpace, American Idol, Hurricane Katrina, and the Iraq War. Even Van, Reba's son-in-law, makes a comment about the housing market "about to burst" and then the next year, it really did.
