For new shows I love Criminal Minds although 7 season so far. Derek is awesome. I so want to be Garcia like on the computer.
I also enjoy Law and order svu.
Never got into CSI but the mentalist is pretty good. -

well maybe not the first but Steven Bocho's hill street blues and his short lived Cop Rock that had some HSB cast both used the line 'Let's Be Careful Out There' after the briefing. On Cop Rock he sings the line 'LETS BE CAREFUL OUT THERE' in a rather dramatic fashion in song.

I personally think it would be fun just to see a reunion movie on some of them. And I am not hell bent on reviving them nor would I want anyone but the original cast. However it is a fun idea to talk about. However people have different opinions on things and it fun to hear those different ideas and opinions. Like the new Five-0 I don't watch it and don't want to it should have been left the way it was. Now if they could do a reunion with the original cast Yeah I would watch it. However I believe most of the cast is now passed. This is of course my opinion and not everyone would enjoy talking about the idea or watching them. As you stated in your opinion there is no need for them. Hopefully that answers your question. Thanks for sharing you thoughts.

I'm not sure if anyone remember this show but New York Undercover. That was my show to watch in the 90's. I would try to tune in every Thursday on FOX that it was on TV. When the show was on one of the main cast members was killed off and another cast member was killed off and then the next season after was kind of dull without the one main cast and the show fell off.fans lost hope in the show. If this show was to air again I think it should continue where it was a dream and everyone is alive.

I would love to see The Saint but with much more action and slightly more gritty. I loved the Rodger Moore adventures and I thought The Ian Ogalvy (cant spell!) Ones were much better than given credit for. The Simon Dutton efforts had all the ingredients but lacked conviction. An updated version with a more brutal Saint could entertain.

I agree with not remaking classic cop shows. I offer
CHiPs (2017)
as a recent example. From what I've read, it is trashy, which is an insult to the "good guy" image of the original show. It's no wonder none of the original cast still alive are involved.
These shows were great in their time and IMO unless again set in that time would lose quality. For example, I watched a number of episodes of
Highway Patrol (1955)
this year when it was on ME TV. Doing a 2017 version of that would suck IMO. In one of my reviews for an episode, I noted it showed an America that no longer exists.
Contemporary for the time cop shows can be great. I saw a mention of
Homicide: Life on the Street (1993)
here and I'll add my favorite,
Robbery Homicide Division (2002)
.
Ignoring politics doesn't mean politics will ignore you.

I almost never watched this when it was on, back in the Sixties, caught a few episodes on some digital channel the other night and was impressed by its mix of realism and police procedural. Strong character development, too, for supporting players, whether victims or perps. It's worth a look.
