    80s - Great.
    90s - Good (ish)
    Now -
Phil? A 52 year old who should quit trying to be a hard man. It's stupid now. Janine Butcher, the neighbourhood snake who has millions now, yet she remains in the same place that she hates. The stories over the years are a joke. The writing Oh dear. How many original characters are still in this? Hardly any. Over the top and Too many new characters that appear out of nowhere added all the time. It's like a rock band changing the whole group and expecting fans to love the new ones just the same.

        Eastenders has been
        soul-sapping depression-drivel
        since 19th February 1985 End -
        please
        end!
What if he'd taken both the
        red
        pill and the
        blue
        pill?

I wasn't born yet but it looked ok in the 80s, the characters looked real whereas now they're mostly fairly vapid. It went downhill when they brought that politically-correct Asian family, the Ferreiras, which included Goans (mostly Catholic), Hindus and Muslims all of one father.

I was hooked on watching Eastenders for about 7 years but these days I find it has gone downhill. They seem to repeat storylines like Nick Cotton dying but he is not dead, Eastenders had that storyline with Den Watts.
