How long does it take you to clean and prep your boots?

These are the first pair of boots that I have really fallen in love with, and that I know (hope?!) will really last. They are absolutely incredible boots and wonderfully comfortable. I've never gone through all of these steps with my other boots, but I really want to take care of these.

As a civilian I don't own any boots. I do try and break in New running shoes to prevent or minimize blisters
in military back in dark ages, boots got issued with little to no concern for fot, comfort.bottom line was deal with the cracked and bleeding skin. maggot -

I have different styles of boots ranging from faux fur lined, knee-high boots to faux leather combat boots. All are black. I just dust them off lol. I know it isn't a proper cleaning, but I find it's usually all they need.

All black
boots? Atta girl! Best colour there is!
I love knee-high boots! I wish I had more occasions to wear them. What do you wear them with? Got any pics?
Most of my boots have been tactical boots (or "combat" boots).
I think that given your attention to detail, you take care of them enough on a
regular
basis that you're
keeping
them in shape. With my current boots, I've sort of put all of my other boots to the side and wear just these boots 90% of the time, so they're exposed to everything, which lately has included salt, snow, mud, puddles, ice, etc. Too many factors set to damage the materials.

I recently refreshed my wardrobe. I've been dressing more black and "spookier" lol. I enjoy buying these things and I've been inspired by retro 50's Gothabilly and 60's with a modern twist lol.
This dress I wore recently with black tights and the combat boots. It looked really cute! Sorry these images are big.
Also this skirt:
These are the boots. I originally got a size a little too small, but ordered in a 1/2 size bigger so hoping they still work out:
Bought these shoes too which I love, but damn gave me a horrible blister on my pinky toe

I'm in love
with this style! It's right up my alley, as you know. Those are simply gorgeous
pieces of clothing. Love the footwear too! You've got a great taste in fashion.

As you know, my hair is pretty dark, but in September of last year, I started getting silver hair. I have this streak (like you do), but it's on my right side. It's the strangest thing. I've got a few more greys (from having none) but this whole streak of silvery/grey is isolated to that one side. Just this one strip of silver hair. It happened over the course of around two weeks. I didn't think that possible.
Did your niece and/or her friend publish any of their vampire novels? I'm always looking for new reading material. I mean, I have dozens of books that are still on my to-do list that I'm working my way through.
I hear you about your style, though. When I'm not wearing Goth-style clothing, I still tend to (mostly) maintain my "uniform" which primarily is always black clothing. I'd love to see what else you've got in your wardrobe!

I would say roughly 95% of my leggings are solid black, but the other 5% are black with patterns. I'm totally with you on that!
When it comes to my jeans, most of mine are blue and I wear them when I'm working outdoors and mucking about. The black jeans I have are more for if I'm looking for what I'd consider "dress jeans" if I'm going out and don't want to wear a dress or skirt, and definitely don't want blue jeans, but want to dress things up a little.
Usually I wear black & black and I let my accessories do the accents. Do you do that too? Do you have certain jewelry that you like to wear when you're all in black? Silver? Black? Gold? Rose gold? Gems or jewels? A certain style?

I've dialed back the jewelry quite a bit as well, but I do have some quintessentially Goth-style pieces that I'll never get rid of. This conversation reminds me that I definitely need to polish my silver, however! For example, I have a silver dragon pendant/choker-style necklace that clicks on with a magnet. It's pretty heavy, but detailed and has (small) rubies for eyes. I have a silver pendant that I call my Vampire Lover's Knot which can appear like long individual fangs framing a garnet stone about the size of a quarter. I have a few rosary bead necklaces. And as you know, I have a custom-made ankh based on the movie
The Hunger
which is sterling silver and stainless steel. It comes apart to expose a workable blade. One side of it is all silver with a welded silver design. The other side has a fiery opal on it down the shank side. I like the fact that it can be worn on either side, showing all silver -or- showing the opal. It secures with a lock, but can be unclipped and it releases an actual, usable sharp stainless-steel blade. I also have a triple goddess pendant that I love. Also, some black tourmaline.
I have the most gorgeous tanzanite ring in a filigree setting that I bought from an estate sale. It was a gift to myself (that I had to put on lay-away to pay for over time) after cancer and my results were finally negative. I'd say that's still my pride and joy. I inherited some jewelry from my mother as well, and almost all of them are still in the original boxes.
Like you, I prefer silver or platinum.
