Yes I have always been drawn to that look and with my natural silver and dark hair now it fits. My niece has also started dressing that way and she and her friend are writing vampire novels.

As you know, my hair is pretty dark, but in September of last year, I started getting silver hair. I have this streak (like you do), but it's on my right side. It's the strangest thing. I've got a few more greys (from having none) but this whole streak of silvery/grey is isolated to that one side. Just this one strip of silver hair. It happened over the course of around two weeks. I didn't think that possible.
Did your niece and/or her friend publish any of their vampire novels? I'm always looking for new reading material. I mean, I have dozens of books that are still on my to-do list that I'm working my way through.
I hear you about your style, though. When I'm not wearing Goth-style clothing, I still tend to (mostly) maintain my "uniform" which primarily is always black clothing. I'd love to see what else you've got in your wardrobe!

They haven't published them yet. I think it's going to be a series. I will post more pics of things I get.
Question: Do you wear blue denim jeans or black ones?

When it comes to denim, I wear both blue and black.

I was just curious because I mainly buy blue denim and wear black leggings.

I would say roughly 95% of my leggings are solid black, but the other 5% are black with patterns. I'm totally with you on that!
When it comes to my jeans, most of mine are blue and I wear them when I'm working outdoors and mucking about. The black jeans I have are more for if I'm looking for what I'd consider "dress jeans" if I'm going out and don't want to wear a dress or skirt, and definitely don't want blue jeans, but want to dress things up a little.
Usually I wear black & black and I let my accessories do the accents. Do you do that too? Do you have certain jewelry that you like to wear when you're all in black? Silver? Black? Gold? Rose gold? Gems or jewels? A certain style?

I'm actually behind on the jewelry. I haven't worn any in years. I prefer silver or platinum to gold and like gemstones like Amethyst because I still love Lavender color as well.

I've dialed back the jewelry quite a bit as well, but I do have some quintessentially Goth-style pieces that I'll never get rid of. This conversation reminds me that I definitely need to polish my silver, however! For example, I have a silver dragon pendant/choker-style necklace that clicks on with a magnet. It's pretty heavy, but detailed and has (small) rubies for eyes. I have a silver pendant that I call my Vampire Lover's Knot which can appear like long individual fangs framing a garnet stone about the size of a quarter. I have a few rosary bead necklaces. And as you know, I have a custom-made ankh based on the movie
                  The Hunger
which is sterling silver and stainless steel. It comes apart to expose a workable blade. One side of it is all silver with a welded silver design. The other side has a fiery opal on it down the shank side. I like the fact that it can be worn on either side, showing all silver -or- showing the opal. It secures with a lock, but can be unclipped and it releases an actual, usable sharp stainless-steel blade. I also have a triple goddess pendant that I love. Also, some black tourmaline.
I have the most gorgeous tanzanite ring in a filigree setting that I bought from an estate sale. It was a gift to myself (that I had to put on lay-away to pay for over time) after cancer and my results were finally negative. I'd say that's still my pride and joy. I inherited some jewelry from my mother as well, and almost all of them are still in the original boxes.
Like you, I prefer silver or platinum.

I have always been drawn to tanzanite, even before I understood how rare the stones are. I have two loose gems but did not want to get a custom-made ring because that is too "new", too "modern", and my tastes have always run in the direction of vintage. I had a hard time finding what I wanted because most stores seem to pride themselves on "new" creations and designs.
My ring has a beautiful, deep rich colour stone set in platinum. The stone in combination with how it is set is in the shape of a coffin. I really, really wanted this, even if it meant I had to wait. It's so perfect.

Why did you delete your comment? Here's my reply:
Yes, I had both radiation and chemo. Chemo is by far the worst. The radiation treatments are like getting an extended X-Ray every day. They would slowly increase the radiation time based on tolerance. They tattooed a tiny dot on my sternum so that when they lined me up, the laser grid could be positioned in the same location, and they would always be able to focus the directed radiation in the same spot after it got mapped out. You don't feel anything. You just have to be very still. The downside is that it starts to really zap your energy after the 2nd or 3rd week from which point it gets worse, and you're chronically exhausted. Even when you're finished with the radiation treatments, your body still has residual fatigue. The exhaustion doesn't stop when the treatments do. The way that my radiation oncologist explained it to me was that after my last treatment, I will continue to lose energy for several more weeks, and after a few months, I would regain about 90% of my energy.
As for the chemo, I was also on oral chemotherapy which compounded the effects. I got extremely sick and had to see a medical oncologist to manage the treatments and she worked with both my surgical and radiology oncologist. I had to have monthly visits and blood tests for her along with regular diagnostics to monitor the progress of my treatments and to ensure the cancer did not return. These days, they don't keep people on oral chemo as long as they did when I had it.

It sounds really pretty! Did you pick it out in the shape of a coffin? Or did it happen to come that way?

Since the ring was made in the 1920s, that's just the shape it happened to be. I looked at other vintage tanzanite rings in different shapes and sizes, but as you'd guess, this particular one just called out to me! I knew that I would know it when I saw the right one.

Just like you, I don't wear jewelry as much as I used to. I used to quite enjoy it and had some really lovely pieces. I inherited some nice pieces from my mother, but despite how lovely the pieces are, by the time I inherited them, I'm not half as much a jewelry person as I used to be and they won't get quite as much wear. Our styles were extremely different. She always liked things to be brand new and modern.

Our styles were extremely different. She always liked things to be brand new and modern.
Are you going to start wearing more jewelry again?
I think I would like to start diving into wearing more. I'm kind of clueless on figuring out what looks good with what lol. I think it's just a matter of putting pieces together that I like. With rings, they often fit somewhat loose on me. I wash my hands often so I'm always scared they will fall off me. But I do love this ring:

That's a really pretty ring. Do you try to match your jewelry with your clothing, or just wear whatever jewelry you're feeling that day?
I pulled out my collection yesterday to see what I've got. I am going to start wearing what I've got because what good is it to just keep them sealed in a box, protected. I should be enjoying them.
I haven't been wearing earrings, and the other day I tried on a pair, and while I could get the left earring in just fine, I had one heck of a time trying to get the right one in. It was really difficult, and then my earlobe turned right and got sore. I feel like I have to start from scratch.
Is your jewelry gothic style or classic or elegant or boho? I have a mix of everything.
