Totally different roles.
You know the difference when you are acting???
Jack Nicholson vs Daniel Day Lewis
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I am not a fan of Daniel Day Lewis, either. I think his acting is all too often over the top and I find him boring. I think the only film of his I own has him in a supporting role in The Bounty.
Jack Nicholson wins this by a wide margin. One of the all time greats. -

Finally! Someone around here that's educated.
So why are you even bothering to compare the two?

Because they are actors on the same playing field. When DDL decided to become an actor in american cinema, he put himself in the pool of all american actors.
Somehow he thinks that he is king based upon 3 best actor Academy Award wins. That's a technicality. Nicholson is the better, more vesatile actor whose worked with nearly ever critically acclaimed movie director, or popular movie directors and all of the most popular actresses, and other actors in the business.
Now you tell me, could DDL make a Kubrick film iconic the way Nicholson did with The Shinning?
Could DDL make a Tim Burton movie iconic, the way Nicholson has?
I could go on and on…

Why are you comparing the two?
It would make more sense to compare two actors in the same role…
Jack Nicholson vs Steven Webber in The Shining.
Try comparing those two performances!
JN vs DDL is like apples and oranges!
I could go on and on…
No doubt.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Why are you comparing the two?
I already told you, bitch!
Because they are actors on the same playing field. When DDL decided to become an actor in american cinema, he put himself in the pool of all american actors.

Omg we cannot understand your mouth full of DDL's cock.
You no longer have my vote for Filmboards Moderator!
I just knew that you couldn't go one whole day without being a jerk.
You don't even know how!
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I'm keeping your topic alive.
Right now it's on life support.
By the way, has Nimda gotten back to you on that job application?

Let's change the subject.
My mom is a huge fan of Bette Davis. And like all Davis fans, she has her favorite movies. Yours is All About Eve, my mom's favorites are Dark Victory and Now, Voyager.
My mom pressured me into watching Dark Victory with her when the movie played on TCM. It was the first time she seen the movie since she was young before having kids.
And she gushed about Bette's performance throughout. She talked about the cinematography and some movie trivia. It was stuff that she learned from her childhood. Not stuff TCM talked about.
I didn't really appreciate the film back then.
I watched it today though. And it made me cry. I really empathize with her character.

Great question……
Personal taste - Jack Nicholson.
Did a lot more work - more variety. DDL - he'd have this massive focus for a film, then disappear for 5 years.
Nicholson's overall amount of work is much greater.
Yeah, DDL is great, but more range showed by Jack - plus work in six different decades.
I take Jack Nicholson
