A lot of you have been asking so might as well tell you all…

Thanks Spike. I could help out back stage but I don’t want that. I want to be brightly lit on stage in lights! Not hidden away back stage in dark clothing…not even getting a clap.

Tell them to shove their play up their big fat bums! It's their loss.
OI feel your pain, once I came this close to getting the part of Mole in Toad of Toad Hall, it was between me and an older girl. They gave it to the older girl, I was gutted, I played a rabbit and a juror but my heart was broken. I never acted again
You stupid fuckers, you know who you are. -

I am very sorry to hear that, Dazed.
️ It is very upsetting when these things happen. It also reminds me of a similar story…at my school we also did The Wind in the Willows and I was desperate to play Toad of Toad Hall. I’m sure you agree that Bobby Tomlinson was BORN to play Toad of Toad Hall, it is a role that was tailor made for me! I really thought I’d get it too based on me being the only person in the school who did amateur dramatics outside of school but NOPE! Guess what I did instead?
Well I once again donned my dark clothing and helped out BACK STAGE!!

I think you would have made an amazing Toad, he's such a great character you could definitely have had a lot of fun in that part.
The next play was Tom Sawyer and people were asking me to audition and I was like "Nope".
I'd been in maybe 2 plays or pantos a year since I was really young doing ballet, tap and singing (badly) but the ToTH experience destroyed acting for me. I know it sounds like I had a meltdown and threw my toys out of the pram and I totally did!
What other plays have you been in and what is your dream part?

Thank you Dazed, I think so too. I would have loved to have played Toad of Toad Hall riding around in his motorcar and shouting ‘WAAAAYYYYY!’. It was always my dream role.

We did quite a few plays in the Youth Theatre but I dropped out of a lot of them due to my parts being too small. I felt I was worth much more and still do. The Silver Sword, The Royal Hunt for the Sun, The Railway Children, Simon and the Witch…
We did Tom Sawyer too funnily enough. I played the role of Mr Rogers. Who? Exactly…he’s not even in the book.

Not to worry Bobby!
Crack open the YouTube and start your own channel. I'm sure that people will flock to it and those Am Dram folks will be livid at what they lost out on
Do your own one-man show of Young Frankenstein and show them what's what!

No Juan I do not wish to do that. You see part and parcel of me joining this group would have been meeting new friends who have the same enjoyments as me. Also a validation that I am as talented as I believe. A one person thing just amplifies the loneliness and no one has accepted me, I’d just be doing it off my own bat.
I’m starting to get quite angry now Juan the more I think about it. I think that I might go down there later where they rehearse and throw eggs at the building and maybe some loo paper and pee on the walls.

What like weirdos from the internet?! Noooo I wanted to be in a group with nice people, normal people.
I’ve just been watching a video of that amdram group where they had a private little song performance for family members. They all seemed so smug, so sure of themselves…oh dear Juan I hope that this doesn’t turn me into a bitter and angry person.
