Heat pumps crap out pretty quickly and aren’t efficient in colder climates.
that's why you have a dual fuel system like I've said a dozen times. you switch over to your furnace when it's too cold for the pump to work efficiently
the pump doesn't crap out sooner than a furnace. having the heat pump will extend the life of your furnace and A/C by massive amounts while paying for itself.
the only reason to resist heat pumps is if you're either retarded, a poor person, or an oil barron

no. I could technically not use one or the other if I want. I control it all with my phone. they work together to create an efficient heating and cooling system that saves money and energy while also making my HVAC setup a carbon neutral climate control system.
