Yeah, I was totally confused by it as a young teenager, had no internet to look it up or talk about it on forums either.
But it did add to the whole feeling of the series being a downward spiral into insanity.
The proper ending was so much more satisfying though. Gigantic Uber Rei falling apart in the ocean, epic.
Really curious to see where they go with the ending of the remakes, it seems to be playing out a little differently. -

Yeah, I feel like they're going for a more "uplifting" conclusion with the remakes. The fourth and final one's on Amazon Prime now (along with the other three). Heard that it was excellent. Definitely going to be watching it sometime in the next week or so once I've finished up this series I've been watching for the past month… and watched the third. Still haven't done that.
Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one. -

I’ll have to rewatch all 3 remakes before seeing the fourth, I didn’t even know it was released
Hopefully it has the English dub, I watch them all dubbed because of the same English cast being used as the original series - even though Shinji’s whiny bitch boy voice can get a bit annoying. -

Haven’t seen as much as actual anime fans, but from what I’ve seen..
Series: Neon Genesis, Berserk, Castlevania
Movies: AKIRA!, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, Street Fighter (it’s just well made fan service, and HAS to be the English dub due to the music)
Also pretty much all the Studio Ghibli movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki is awesome, haven’t seen one that fails to impress as of yet. -

It’s not quite as stupid as this **** looked in that one single image he’s had the balls to share online.
He should post more about how A Quiet Place is some kind of masterpiece that absolutely doesn’t somehow manage to make emotions and tension seem boring and pretentious.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
