A Scanner Darkly is CGI rotoscoping, not the real deal

I hate 3D. Therefore –'old school' –even 2D old sckool–is more appealing to me.
For instance the huge fun of the Brit
          "Punch"
style graphic illustration which got animated in Tony Richardson's "
          Charge of the Light Brigade"
          .
Really fascinating. That is genuine graphic arts which had animation applied to it, rather than having the whole thing start with the clumsy / fumbling hackwork of 3d keyboard jockeys.
If forced to choose 3D, I would opt for stop-motion like George Pal did.

Wow great minds think alike! I was planning on posting a review about the phenonminal animation in Rango!
              So..my choice is Rango!
Check out the DETAIL in this clip. Those rain drops, the reflection from the sunlight, the expressions are that of a critter if it had complex human emotions and they still look like critters. And the entire movie is just that exquisite. Better than anything Disney or Pixar has ever done.

                Hand drawn.
The Max Fleischer hand drawn Superman cartoons have never been equaled.
