    Hello,
I'm a big fan of post-apocalyptic movies (not with zombies, but more the realistic ones). Especially when the story takes place after "World War 3".
Does anyone have some good movies in this genre that I must see?
    My top 3 is btw:

    1. The road
    2. The book of Eli
    3. The postman

The Day After (1983) truly a great movie.

A recent favorite of mine is "Time of the Wolf"
"A Boy and His Dog" is also quite good

"The Road " is excellent. Little hard to watch cause of the implied cannibalism thing, but a great movie anyway!

I respectfully disagree. It was alright IMO.

Yeah Threads might actually be the best of the films the OT described.

Was this meant as a joke? You just posted 3 of the worst movies in the genre. The road was about homeless people walking through mud forever with a non ending, book of eli was up there with resident evil in terms of extreme cheesiness and the postman is waterworld levels of failure.
Children of men is my #1 by far, other than that i'd go for Blade runner, 28 days later, Thunderdome, A scanner darkly, Brazil.

Brazil, really? You bash the OT and then claim a forgotten Monty Python reel? A Scanner Darkly isn't even close to OT. Read the topic next time since Zombies and Dystopians aren't interesting to the OT.
Children of Men is one of my favorites also

Here are my top 10 Post-Apocalypse movies.

                                  1. The Time Machine (1960)
                                  2. The Last Man on Earth (1964)
                                  3. Planet of the Apes (1969)
                                  4. Fantastic Planet (1973)
                                  5. Zardoz (1974)
                                  6. Wizards (1977)
                                  7. Naussicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
                                  8. Mad Max 2 (1981)
                                  9. Children of Men (2006)
                                  10. The Road (2009)
Honorable mention goes to 12 Monkeys. Only a small portion of the film actually shows the earth after the virus, but it was well done, and it's a great film anyway.

The Omega Man (I personally think it's the best "adaption" of the novel)
The Day the World Ended (1955)
                                        Logan's Run
I have to admit I have a soft spot for Waterworld and the Postman, especially the Postman.

I felt that Omega Man was actually the worst adaptation of the novel. Vincent Price's Last Man on Earth frequently makes direct quotes and I Am Legend just really 'felt right' after reading so many other Matheson stories. I take that back, there are a couple of weird martial arts versions I have seen on TV that were obvious rip-offs that included misplaced quotes that were worse than Omega Man. All of that said Omega Man was still the best of all of these films without a doubt, just not the best adaptation.
