A British soldier (Jack O'Connell) becomes separated from his unit during a riot in Belfast at the height of the Troubles in 1971. He has to survive the night in hostile IRA territory. Jack O'Connell was also in This is England and Eden Lake.

early 70s had a lot of pro-IRA movies but you never see them anymore. "Hunger" by Steve McQueen was the last one. "In the name of the father" is a pretty bad movie, wouldnt you say?

Yeah I knew why he killed him, but I just didnt expect he would, I thought him perving over her was not gunna be a plot point, i just thought the writers were doing a bit of social comm, an old guy perving on a younger attractive woman and such. That **** happens all the time irl and I thought the writers wanted to reflect that.
