I love this one! An epic film about the Russian revolution. It's one part love story and one part history lesson and it's all so sad and tragic (just like most of the great Russian novels) but never for a moment is it dull or pedestrian. Sharif, Geraldine Chaplin, Julie Christie and Alec Guinness all give superb performances. One of the best films ever made.

Ingrid Pitt has something like four or five different bit roles throughout this film. Moreover, spaghetti Western regulars Victor Israel and Aldo Sambrell also have bit roles in this movie because a lot of it was filmed in Spain.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything. -
