Which of these families you think the movie industry finds more interesting for their films and which house gave us better films
    About the Windsor we have
    The Queen
    The King's speech
    Very soon to come
    Diana
I wouldn't be surprised if in another few months we get one about William and Kate Middelton and one about Harry.
    About The Tudors we have
    Anne of the thousand days
    Henry VIII
    Elizabeth
    Elizabeth the golden age
    Elizabeth I
    The other Boleyn Girl 2003
    The other Boleyn Girl 2008
    The Tudors tv series
    A man of all seasons
So my other which house has given us better films well its impossible to decide.
The Tudors has given us more drama and scandal but the Windsor house had more Likeable and relatable characters.
The Tudors films are darker, deeper more sophisticated and with a very poetic language meanwhile the films about the Windsor are more like a crowd pleaser which never fail at the box office
The films about the Windsor have more variety, meanwhile most of the Tudors films are about Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn or Elizabeth and all the people around them as Suporting characters.
Which house the industry finds more interesting ?
I think lately is the Windsor house.
Since the movie the queen and the King's speech were such hits, I feel like there will be non stop movies about them.
Right now the Diana Biopic is being filmed and Naomi Watts with her characterization it's looking a lot like her.
Don't be surprised if after the Diana Biopic it's a hit in just months latter will see one about the Queen mom and another about William and Harry.
The Tudors gave them a lot of material till 2008 with the series the Tudors and the other Boleyn girl but they are done with them.

Well I don't know anything about the Plantagenets but if you say they are that Interesting I'm with you to vote for a film about them for a change.
I love both houses but I agree we need to know a different house for once.

If I see one more film about either House I think ill scream. Whats wrong with the Plantagenets? Far more interesting!
        I second that!

          The Windsor for both.

What about movies and tv shows about the Hanoverians or the Stuarts?
What about a tv series in which each episode shows how a different dynasty lost its throne because of England/Great Britain/the UK? There would be material for several full seasons of episodes.
How about movies and tv shows about following the family of the rightful kings of the Britons, heirs of the rulers of post-Roman Britain (and possibly rulers of the hypothetical northwestern Roman Empire)from 410 to the present - and yes there is a family considered by many to be the genealogical heirs of the kings of the Britons.
Or what about a tv series tracing the heirs of King Arthur to the present? And yes, the family mentioned above is allegedly descended from Maelgwn Gwynedd, supposedly the second cousin of King Arthur. And there is another family tracing their descent from Cador, the alleged first cousin of King Arthur.
I would love to see more English language programs and movies about foreign dynasties and realms.
Ancient, medieval and modern Dynasties. European, African, and Asian, and perhaps a few Oceanic and American dynasties. Christian, Jewish, Muslim, pagan, Hindu, Buddhist etc. dynasties.

I absolutely agree that there is a plethora of kingdoms, empires, dynasties, heroic figures, epic figures from all over the world that would provide outstanding subject matter for film epics. But, I have been waiting for some film-maker to take advantage of some of that material for about 50 years. I am glad I didn't hold my breath!
I had no idea about the rest of your post, however, that there were people who actually claimed to be able to trace their ancestors back to the post-Roman lords of Albion. Thanks for a most interesting post!

Tudors: From that cowering twit who hung back in terror of the brave RICHARD III, and let back stabbing traitors steal the Throne. UP the WHITE Rose!

The Tudors are far more interesting, as soon as House of Stuart gains the throne I lose interest in Royal history.
I'd love for Hollywood to make more films prior to Tudor, using Plantagenet, York and Lancaster.
