Sometimes, demonic possession can change you. Even though I haven't watched the film, people who survive demonic possession won't be the same as they were prior to DP. Demons usually take things with them when you expel them or temporarily destroy them.
Not always the case like you siad. It really depends on the movie and the type of demon inside the host. You'll have to watch more of those movies to understand what I'm talking about. I prefer when the demon is completely expelled from the host like in The Exorcist or in Evil Dead (2013) because I like a happy ending. I'll watch almost any of the demonic possession movies as long as they are good movies. I'm usually disappointed because the majority of those movies aren't good.

I did watch plenty of movies and I agree, it depends on the demons and how it portray onscreen. Some exorcists failed to save the possessed victims like what happened in
      The Exorcism of Emily Rose
      and the tv series,
      The Exorcist
, when that one exorcist was sent to Mexico to save a little boy who is possessed and the demon killed the boy by committing suicide in the flashback sequences. It was a brutal scene.
It had me curious is what happened to you when you get killed or die during the possession? Does the demon take your soul with the demon to hell or would you automatically be sent away from the demon that took the hold of you by some unseen positive force? I guess we'll never know.
I hope a bear throw a book at you, moon at you, and do a tap dance wearing a thong and leather boots.

I've never seen a movie detailing that part. I doubt it because why do we care? The story is over with at that point.
There could be existing supernatural demonic possession movies that have a direct answer to your question. If not, maybe there will be a movie made with an explanation. No preist has ever mentioned it. There aren't any scenes showing a spritual entity intervening. Or the soul of the host zapping back into their body.
Although, if I had to speculate about the missing soul, I'd say that their soul was taken to hell because that's what the demon says it will do. It attached to it. Therefore, that's what happened to the host's soul. The soul was taken to Hell. Which is the reason of the exorcism in the first place. The exorcism (God's power) is supposed to cure the host and save their soul from being taken to Hell.
None of this stuff actually happens in real life. There is no such thing as demonic possession.

That would make sense. It sucks to be transported to hell with the demon who torment you and you don't deserve the punishment. Even though there are several interpretations or implications as to what happened to the souls, there are no real answer. Just theories. I hope someone would clarify in this theory eventually. Or there are probably some movies/documentaries explaining this and we haven't seen or read it? Who knows.

Maybe not, but multiple personalities disorders exists, though, if it's the medical term. And I firmly believe there supernaturals among us. Especially that I spoke to ghosts when I was younger. I spooked my whole family once with that, but I can't remember much about it.

Okay now you're going off the deep end with this discussion. You guys ALWAYS do this ****! First you find someone who has an interest in horror movies. Then you lead the discussion towards multiple personalities, vertigo, Stephen King, Satanic worship, song lyrics and lastly sex.
Same ****ing **** from the same ****ing peoole.
I'm done with this. I should have known better than to participate in Lilith's thread. She attracts the most online weirdos.

Oh, I think I can understand how she is.
I was going to invite her to the seance but I doubt she can handle it, especially with her losing **** quite easily. I'd invite you and Lilith, though.

I agree! But for now, I must retire to bed so perhaps next night?
That way, I won't have to listen to Donna going hysterical about people mentioning ghosts and demons. I'll sleep through all that without interruptions.

Have you ever seen this? It's the true story of what inspired Emily Rose:
I've looked into her story, and they've interviewed her college friends and family, so you get a much richer understanding of the
                          history
                          behind this evolution.

Remember in the movie they talked about having multiple vocal chords?
When I watched the real documentary about her, where they showed her when she was younger, and how normal she seemed, that no one really saw anything going on until she started getting these blackouts.

I was reading those comments in the youtube video and some people said she was suffering with severe mental illness. But that's not what mental illness would do, you don't just suddenly become fluent in speaking ancient languages you know nothing about prior to it. That's too abnormal and irrational to be labeled as "mental illness". And yes, having multiple vocal chords is one of them. There's a difference between being batshit crazy and being a completely different in an instant with changes in physical features such as eyes suddenly turn black and skin being suddenly pale.
The signs of the changes can be overlooked and it's usually too late to notice that there's anything wrong with a person.

That's the part that always got to me too. I have no doubt that many of instances of "demonic possession" are things that we, today, have come to understand are forms of mental illness.
But when I watched this, it was incredible to actually hear the recordings. I know the parents got blamed for not feeding her or going to a strictly medical route, but thing is, they did do that. And it didn't work, and she got worse.
You can hear in those recordings multiple voices at once, and as you said, the thing about her being able to speak in multiple languages including dead languages is just inexplicable.

I remember the movie playing the parts the same way. I remember one woman explained that certain medicine would make Rose's condition basically permanent and incurable, rendering the priest's ability useless in the exorcism. I saw the pictures of her being covered in bruises and looking gaunt, which was pretty upsetting. It's tragic how it ended for her. This part of documentary just stated that exorcism and modern medicine don't mix very well.
Some of the recordings are pretty creepy, but interesting. And I like how they can present pieces of evidence that there are indeed supernatural elements among us and we don't know it.
Of course, there will always be those who doesn't believe in supernatural. They'd claim there are rational explanations behind everything, being a realist.
And I'm a hybrid of realist and spiritualist. I don't automatically believe the supernatural unless it's proven not to be fake and set up for attention.

I'm the same way. I believe in both. I have a strong belief in science and medicine, and my initial reaction is always that there are logical explanations. I do not automatically jump to something being supernatural or have a mystical side to it.
Sometimes it's a matter of palliative care, and if a patient believes themselves to be inhabited by a demon, the "exorcism" is simply a method that will work for them in a way that feels right to them.
However, I do think there are things out there we've yet to tap into, and I do believe we can open ourselves up to darker forces.

Have you ever seen ghosts or demons or experience poltergeist at your house?
I remember if the doctors come to the conclusion that the patients are indeed inhabited by a demon, they would suggest call the exorcist. Of course, that depends on the hospital. Because the exorcist is another form of a witch doctor, depending on their perspective. Who knows.
However, I do think there are things out there we've yet to tap into, and I do believe we can open ourselves up to darker forces.
                                        Yesssss.
Perhaps if we can perform some sort of witchcraft on this board, people might go hysterical over it.
I hope a bear throw a book at you, moon at you, and do a tap dance wearing a thong and leather boots.

Yes, I've had some inexplicable things happen to me, or around me, but nothing like a possession or poltergeist or any of that sort of stuff. However, I've got an extensive list of "oddities" that have always surrounded me, and my Nana experienced the same thing, but only around certain things.
I still will believe this to my dying day, but while watching something on TV that was about troubled kids I think, so often you could tell at least one factor was poor parenting, or kids that had troubles that required special attention and care above and beyond that of "regular" little children.
This one mother, exasperated, had a young son. This little boy (I'm not familiar with children at all so I cannot guess or remember the age, but he was pretty young), had the most bizarre fits where he got extremely strong and his voice changed to growling, and he'd viciously attack his mother, beating her up, being able to knock her down and really hurt her. It was as if he not only had superhuman strength, but his entire demeanor would rapidly change as did his voice.
That was the one and only time that I saw a kid (and it was only on TV so who knows) where I thought something is really wrong here, and I don't think it's a medical issue. You'd have to understand how very remarkable his actions were, especially for such a small kid.
