this is an adaptation of Color from the darki thought it was fckn boring but that's me so 3/10.I prefer Die! Monster Die! for old times sake..but there is another more recent adaptation that is pretty good.Colour from the Dark (2008)
There is a foreign splatter film coming out called Virus: Extreme Contamination (2016) based on the same story. You oughta check out the trailer if you like that sort of thing

You mean The Colour Out of Space by H.P. Lovecraft. The original story was good but I can't remember a thing about this film except that Wesley Crushnuts was in it.
I thought the Jordy Verrill segment in Creepshow was a better nod to that story. -

6/10 Many years since I last saw this, the FX etc was quite good for the budget and in general a decently made film, where it falls apart is the plot taking a wrong path about ½ an hour to go, the house at the end imploding was just plain stopid at first I thought the aliens where beaming it up
