This really isn't necessarily OT Watchmen is about avoiding nuclear holocaust, which should certainly qualify as horror.

Big fan of the book(s). Don't really like the movie at all. It's like a brainless cliff notes version and I can't stand Snyder's shallow style in it. The cast is really solid though. Except for Malin Ackerman who is astonishingly bad.

Agree 100%.
As I watched it, I thought Snyder completely missed the point of the comic. Ultimately, I agree with Alan Moore on this one - it's a comic that works as a comic, not as a film. Too much had to be sacrificed to fit the run time for one thing (I haven't seen any special additions, btw, so that may be addressed there).
On the plus side, it was a generally 'faithful' adaptation (inasmuch as the plot is generally the same), and I didn't mind the pragmatic change to the villain's plan - the change was better for the film, I feel - and certainly a lot of effort was made to make it look right, but on the whole it was a shallow mess - no substance of note, whilst desperately trying to be worthy and preachy. A bit like most of Snyder's oeuvre, really.
And yes, Malin Ackerman was abysmal -

I love both the graphic novel and the movie. One of the rare cases where a change in the movie from the book was actually way better. I thought the ending in the movie was so much better.

One of the best "comic book" movies. And I agree with jim; the movie's ending is a big improvement on the graphic novel's.
They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into. I say, let 'em crash. -

I couldn't have said it better. Well, I could, because I am me and you are you, but had I said it, I couldn't say it any better. The cast was great. Really brought the characters to life.
I don't think, therefore I am not. -

Love the comics. The film wasas good as it could be expected to be. But I agree with Alan Moore that it shouldn't have been made, that his vision was made specifically for the comic form.
I agree with your alignment judgements. I would say that Night Owl is lawful good. Comedian was chaotic good. The real question is how do you see Ozymandias? -

I didn't like it.
The soundtrack was too lax.
Bob Dylan during the opening credits, Hendrix's Watchtower song during a lift-off.
Good music that's not going to get it done.
This film needed a more aggressive atmosphere, dare I say a maddening one, to match the comedian.
Your sarcasm has driven me to idiocy.
