I almost had a heart attack when I saw your list because I have seen all those movies except
Thirteen Women
and
Island Of Lost Souls
. I actually own all the others in your list and I'm a fan of all of them, some for nostalgic reasons such as
THE MUMMY
which scared the living beep out of me because I watched it on TV when I was way too young.
I only saw
White Zombie
recently, because it was recommended by someone on the Horror board. It's beautiful brah.
I wonder why 1932 was such a good year for horror, when you were hard pressed in some of your older years to find even one horror movie, let along a good one?
DO YOU THINK SATAN WAS INVOLVED -

Definitely one of the best years of the 1930's. Quite a few classics.
Maybe you won't like Thirteen Women as it's consider a very early proto-slasher, and we know how much you love(hate) slashers.

Well I might be up for a proto slasher if I knew what "proto" meant. Does that mean the slasher is a cyborg amirite Eseh. I do love the "first" two slashers, Bob Clark's
Black Christmas
(even though there's no slashing) and John Crapenter's
Halloween
(plenty of slashing), so I may enjoy a cyborg slasher as well. I will try to find it. I bet it's on SCREW TUBE, if I'm not mistaken. -

It means that they came before the true slasher films, and though they aren't true slasher films themselves, they feature elements that would become part of a alasher.
Though I like your definition more.

But the slashing doesn't need to be done with a knife amirite. Freddy's fingers or the Driller Killer for example. In
Black Christmas
the killer favors asphyxiation. I thought Margot Killer was a superb final girl in that movie, and also that dink who starred in
2001: a Space Odyssey
was good too. Did you know both of them are Canadian, Eseh? So is Bob Clark. -

Yesterday evening I saw a bunch of young guys who must have been fashioning theirselves as rebels or trouble, or something. They stood outside of a burning business (they weren't the ones who had started the fire I'm assuming) as a crowd gathered awaiting the fire department to extinguish the tragedy these gents who I oughtn't even refer to them so respectfully, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt they had a box of donuts and they were throwing the donuts into the burning building, snickering at it. I feel in my heart there is something disprespectful in that.
So here's my list:- The Mummy
- Freaks
- Island of Lost Souls
- The Most Dangerous Game
- The Old Dark House
- White Zombie
- Vampyr
- Murders in the Rue Morgue
- The Mask of Fu Manchu
- Doctor X
I have seen a total of 21 horror movies from the year of this year. I could keep going. I am superior to those sprouts, those young men, those squirts throwing donuts at a fire. I am a distinguished man.
