Getting on pretty well, thanks.
I haven't had too many bombs either. My best ftv so far are The Wailing, the Witch Who Came From the sea, and Mad in Italy.
Best repeats Alien 3 and Cannibal Holocaust, the latter which I'm starting right NOW! -

Nice to see another thumbs up for The Wailing - I plan to check it out but the run time has put me off a couple of times
I know I'll probably enjoy it more than two crap 80 minute films
sometimes i doubt your commitment to sparkle motion -

Been managing to watch a horror movie nearly every day up to now. Quality has been a problem though. Out of all the movies I've seen in the last week, not one of them would I rate higher than 7/10. And some would be quite a bit lower.
Hammer's
The Nanny
(1965) has been this year's highlight thus far, while
Wake Wood
(2010) was the worst of the bunch. -

I've got a copy of the The Nanny, it came in a Hammer boxset but I've never got round to watching it - I'll be sure to check it out before the month ends
One of Hammer's finest offerings IMO. Would strongly recommend. -

Phantasm: 10/ 10. Still in my top 10 films of all time.
Phantasm Ravager: 5/ 10. I want to watch this again, and the original trilogy, closer to Halloween.
Suspiria: 7/ 10. Very colourful, loud, wierd.
The Sleeping Car: 4/ 10. Ditto, see above, but not as much fun.
Seytan (Turkish Exorcist): 5/ 10. See above, again.
Hrabe Drackula (Czechoslovakian Dracula): 6/ 10. Bland acting nearly sunk this atmospheric flick.
Drakula Istanbul'da (Turkish Dracula): 3/ 10. Largely inept.
Deafula: 5/ 10. ASL version of Dracula faltered by bringing the Count into then-present day 1970s.
The Zodiac Killer (1971): 5/ 10. Unintentionally humorous.
Haxan: 8/ 10 for its original subtitled version, 4/ 10 for its "talkie/ William Burrows" version.
Savage Man Savage Beast: 5/ 10. Mediocre Mondo.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari: 10/ 10. Brilliantly warped and twisted.
Friday the 13: 8/ 10
Part II: 8 or 9/ 10
Part III: 7/ 10
The Final Chapter: 7/ 10
A New Beginning: 6/ 10
Jason Lives: 7/ 10
The New Blood: 7/ 10
Jason takes Manhattan: 5/ 10
Jason goes to Hell: 2/ 10. Sucked like Hell.
Jason X: 6/ 10
Jason vs Freddy: 4/ 10
Remake: 7/ 10. Derek Mears makes this worth watching. -

Last night, I watched:
The Unholy Three: 5/ 10. I was unimpressed, but may give it a second chance.
Phantom of the Opera (1925): 7/ 10 (rewatch)
The Penalty: 7/ 10
Mad Love (1935) 10/ 10, it's a good movie, but what puts it over the top, for me, was its supremely creepy "unmasking" scene. (Rewatch)
Horror Express: 8/ 10. -

I've watched 23 so far. I didn't love most of the movies I watched. Train to Busan was my best watch. I hope to finish this Friday because after that I don't think I'll feel like watching anything because I have to get a brain MRI on the 25th. I'll be too afraid to do anything until I get the (hopefully positive) results.
CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre. -

It's a bit of a stretch - it has a horror tag on IMDB which is why I watched it
There's one (the only) decent scene in the middle where the the lions are attacking which could qualify it but f I was describing it to someone I wouldn't call it a horror film
sometimes i doubt your commitment to sparkle motion -

This is probably the best challenge for me in terms of consistency and more hits than misses.
I've managed to watch a surprising amount of contemporary and latest horror films as well, which is odd as usually I watch a bunch of more obscure 70s/80s VHS ripped crap.
Best views so far would be, in no real order after the first two
The Wailing (2016)
Train To Busan (2016)
Tag (2015)
The Corpse of Anna Fritz (2015) I reckon you might dig this one mate.
Occult (2009)
Don't Breathe (2016)
I Am Not a Serial Killer (2016)
Il Demonio (1963)
I also enjoyed The Taking of Deborah Logan and Cult.
I watched The Shallows (2016) yesterday and while I found it way silly, it had its moments anyway and emerged as a passable time filler.
Worst would have to be High-Rise (2015) I found it a pretentious self indulgent incoherent annoying pile of crap and at this stage I'm simply not a Ben Wheatly fan at all.
Followed closely by Neon Demon (2016), boring film.
in spite of some good vibes, I found The Witch boring as hell also and while it's well made and looks good, it just didn't do anything for me.
Gonna try catch the Stephen Chow flick later today and again glad you liked Greatful Dead.
Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah! -

I watched Train to Busan for my 31st film. Its a winner (7.5/10) I would have rather the whole film didn't revolve about some kid but she wasn't that annoying and there's plenty of good zombie moments to balance it out.
I thought the Shallows was okay, anything with a killer animal I'm normally on board with really. I think the Lions being tame for the most part in Roar was one of the reasons I hated it. If you haven't had your fill of CGI sharks I liked 47 metres down a little more than The Shallows. I also enjoyed the Hatching, really the films a total mess but concept, a Nile Crocodile on the loose in Somerset, was pretty funny and a few of the jokes stuck.
I've tried to watch The Witch twice and it sent me to sleep both times, I don't think i'll bother trying for a third time.
I am not a Serial Killer has been on my 'maybe' list for the month but being you liked it i'll be sure to check it out.
.also High Rise - Are going for the Gravity award for most spurious horror claim? to be fair I haven't seen it but if that's a horror film the trailer is a bit misleading!
sometimes i doubt your commitment to sparkle motion
