Its not as simple as V2.1 and anything is worth learning though with memory engagement.
I voted for 10 which included other:
Mambo Italiano - '03
which I adore and has become an easy go too quick fix.
I love the family dynamic in this one and there are several guffaws for me throughout the film. Cute male leads aside, I also love the performance of the sister. Her timing and characterization was skilled and spot on.
As hard hitting and bleak as it can be, I also like the gritty Australian
Head On - '98
, about a disillusioned gay guy from a traditional Greek family.
There are some pretty good gay-themed movies out there, but many of them I would have to re-visit to make a more informed opinion.

i have not seen Un Chant d'amour, but i'm also a fan of Kenneth Anger. Lucifer Rising and Invocation of My Demon Brother are my favs of his. they just look amazing!
i'm German, so Fassbinder is very close to me.

Since you have included Hitchcock's brilliant film, Rope, loosely based on the Leopold and Loeb case, I'll add Compulsion. It's the novel, adapted to stage play, to film adaptation, based on the same case. It actually follows the case much more closely. The names were changed, of course. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
Much of the court transcripts are used in the film.
