He was a very fortunate man and even though what he did was stupid, it was the extremity and criminal corruption of the system that needed to be exposed. Not that it makes any difference.

A clever putdown can be taken in stride, but this coarse thing came at me with no wit or point of view.
I think this is what they are talking about when the say "the banality of evil".

Really? I don't understand that at all. I would have thought that the admins (however many of them there are???) would have to be able to "get along" to a certain extent. And I thought that GB was Admin as well. So how does that work? The two of them don't exactly seem to be on the same page.
Anyway, admin or not, "Nimba" belongs to the species of
sub-cretin
, underdeveloped frontal lobe and all.

Cretins come in many forms and there are many unevolved frontal lobe neanderthals that troll on here.

Toasty, that homophobic moron is not Nimda.
C'mon, you're from IMDb. That's a poseur - Nimda, - with a comma after his name.
Nimda is very pro-LGBT.

The comma doesn't mean much to me, didn't even notice it, I just see a name.
Thanks for pointing that out though. Why don't you bar that user name, so it doesn't cause confusion?
There is a Nimba as well, as per introductory post to the board. Who is that?

Globally AIDS is more a problem for heterosexuals than queer folks.
Well, we know AIDS was used as a ruse to stigmatize gays, so it doesn't appear like its a breeder issue.
Have you seen
And The Band Played On
?

I know you asked GB the question, but I think it's okay if I pipe in on this one.

I haven't seen "And the Band Played On", but just last night I watched "Buddies", a low-budget personal little film about AIDS. It was made in 1985 and it is supposed to have been the first movie to have dealt with the crisis. Some of it was amateurish, but that didn't keep it from being a moving story.
I've been watching a lot of gay-themed movies lately. The German film "The Consequence" from 1977 has been my favorite. And I just discovered it by accident.
The most devastating movie I've ever seen about AIDS was "Silverlake Life." It came out in 1993, the same year as that well-intentioned pap, "Philadelphia". Of course, SL was a documentary and that changes the game up, but like the old IMDB reviews said if you watch the film and are not moved, then you don't have a heart.
Of course, "Nimba, the Sleestack" is not going to get it. It's too busy looking for bugs to eat.

There is another early 90's AIDS drama called
Longtime Companion
, which is depressing but well done.
Fitting image for the many reptiles in human form that roam the earth.
