I watched MAE WEST starring Ann Jilliangood overview of her life and career but nothing too revealing as MW was still alive when the film was shown (early 80's). Co-starred James Brolin and Roddy McDowell.

I recently watched "Nightmare in Columbia County" (1991) recently. William Devane starred a sheriff and Jeri Ryan played a young beauty queen whose sister is kidnapped and murdered.
Just tonight I watched "Dangerous Evidence: The Lori Jackson Story" (1999) starring Lynn Whitfield as an activist trying to prove the innocence of a soldier accused of rape.
I had seen parts of "Nightmare" years ago on Lifetime. I really enjoyed the movie. "Dangerous Evidence" was also very good. Both were based on true stories. -

I've just watched "The Death of Richie" from 1977, starring Robbie Benson as a drug-addicted teen and Ben Gazarra and Eileen Brennan as his parents. It's an unrelentingly bleak film based on a true story, and I'm hoping to track down the book.

@WarpedRecord, I've seen pictures from that movie on Ebay (I collect photos from movies and tv). I'd love to see that movie sometime since I am a fan of all three of those actors (Benson, Gazzara and Brennan).
I actually just watched 1993's "Precious Victims" the other day which also starred Robby Benson and featured Eileen Brennan in a supporting role.
It was based on the true story of the disappearance of a couple's two daughters three years apart in two different towns in Illinois. -

Hi, Jgiles: That's cool that you collect photos from movies and TV. Are these the promotional still the studios and networks send out? I used to have a lot of those, but I've had to weed out my collection through various moves. I used to get a lot of promo packs that had photos and press releases for new movies and series, and now I wish I saved those because a lot of them are very valuable now.
"Previous Victims" sounds very interesting and I see Eileen Brennan's in that also as well as Frederic Forrest, who is always worth watching. I'll seek that out. -

@WarpedRecord, I do collect a lot of promotional photos and press kits that I have purchased on Ebay. I have several from made for tv movies, including press kits for Death Sentence (1974) with Cloris Leachman, It Was Him or Us (1995) with Ann Jillian and the AIDS miniseries And the Band Played On (1993).
I keep them in binders and put stickers on the outer plastic sheets saying what the movie is and what year it is from. I love to look at them from time to time. -

That is so cool, Jgiles! Are those press kits even made anymore, or is it mostly digital now? I suspect the latter.
"And the Band Played On" is terrific, and it's great to see Alan Alda in a darker role. I also recently saw "Death Sentence," which was packaged as a Nick Nolte Film but really belongs to Cloris Leachman. I haven't caught "It Was Him or Us" yet.
I started out as a record collector (and still very much am, hence my screen name), but I've also started collecting movies big-time. Unfortunately, I've had to thin out much of the memorabilia because I only have so much space for the titles themselves, which are severely crowding my space as it is. -

Press kits do seem to be a thing of the past and I'm used to seeing more of them for theatrical movies, not tv movies. The ones I find on Ebay are so cool. They tell what channel the movie aired on and what time and give a summary of the movie and have pictures.
You're right about "And the Band Played On". I enjoy that movie and when we watched the movie in health class in middle school, my teacher told us that Alan Alda was playing a jerk, which he did and he did it very well. You're also right about "Death Sentence". The lower-quality DVDs of that movie (which is mostly how it's available on DVD) emphasize Nick Nolte, who was really only starting out in his career and has a small role. Cloris Leachman was the star of the movie.
I collect a lot of pop culture items, the most recent being the press kits and photos from movies and tv shows. It's a fun hobby. -

Along those lines, didn't there used to be a Loni Anderson thread on this board that TVmovieViewer created? I found those threads for various actors and actresses very useful. It seems posts on this board are disappearing rapidly. -

I believe you are correct in saying there used to be a Loni Anderson thread and you are also correct in saying some of the threads are disappearing. I feel that way, too and it also seems like not many people are posting in the Made-For-TV-Films message board anymore, which is a shame because I'd love to keep the conversations going about this very underrated but highly enjoyable genre.

Yes, it's unfortunate this board isn't more active, but TV movies are a fairly small niche.
I don't mind so much when generic-type threads disappear, but I found TVmovieViewer's individual threads on actors and actresses very helpful. Clearly a lot of thought and work went into compiling those. I've sought out many of those films based on the recommendations. Unfortunately, by the time I get around to watching the film, many of the threads have disappeared. -

Hi Warped, Thank you for the compliments about my threads. There was indeed a Loni Anderson thread, and it unfortunately has been deleted. I didn't like "Whisper Kill" even though I like Loni and June Lockhart- who has a significant role in the movie.
It's frustrating that so many of out old threads have been deleted. Unfortunately I didn't save any of them.
Yesterday I watched the TV movie "Deception: A Mother's Secret" (1991) starring Steven Weber and Katherine Helmond. It was very good and I recommend it. -

Hello, TVmovieViewer: Yes, "Whisper Kill" was pretty disappointing, and it's more of a Joey Penny film than a Loni Anderson film despite how my DVD portrayed it. That's not the problem, though it's the flat script and meandering plot. And I see today happens to be Ms. Anderson's 68th birthday.
I don't like when people whine about IMDb and I realize this is a free service, but it's unfortunate that threads that are redundant and go nowhere remain on these boards while truly useful threads like yours for actors' and actresses' TV films get deleted. Even if it's weeks or months between posts, I find them very useful when I get around to a film with that star. I suspect the deletions are random and based on algorithms or something else I don't understand.
I'll be on the lookout for "Deception: A Mother's Secret." As always, thanks for your recommendations for as long as they survive. -

If so, then the last I watched was

(1975), known in the English speaking world as "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!". It's a comedy-drama. 8.5/10, it's excellent despite being largely shot on the one set.
I have DVDs of a few 1960s/1970s PBS/NET one-off television dramas coming in the mail (sorta like TV movies but shot on video-tape. Do they count?), want to watch them when they come. I also have some other TV movies coming in the mail. I just wish it was easier to find TV movies on DVD. At lot of the really interesting ones either aren't on DVD, or are only available on DVD-R. DVD-R is evil.

Decent, but I did not enjoy the sub-plot involving the Adler woman. The rest of this TV movie is quite good though, though at 144 minutes it is a bit long, and when it was originally broadcast it was shown over 2 nights.
They should release more films and TV shows on DVD and Blu-ray
