I like it because it's about humble beginnings, in the New World of entertainment! I did a project on my choice of Vaudeville! a hit soon to die out. It's like Broadway or the "West End." It also, obviously, centers around Burlesque as an ultimatum, like an insert to Vaudeville, if I recall the notion correctly.
I bet there are lots of good old musicals out there, AFTER Vaudeville, though, I think. Maybe, it's around that time…
This musical pretty much gets it, like
Les Miserables
does.
