I own AGS on DVD. I love that movie!
Miracle, that is exceptional. They did an almost play-by-play and shot-for-shot recreation. They cast actors based on their hockey skills first and foremost vs just trying to get "actors" in general.
They brought it together nicely at the end by showing the actual players and coach. It was a brilliant movie! Highly recommended.

The ending was what made Any Given Sunday a high rating from me, with Jamie Foxx throwing an impeccable spiral while making it seem conceivable that he can potentially be a first string quarterback. The ending was worth the two hours and 42 minutes.

I agree completely! Great sports film, and starring one of my favorite actors, Walter Matthau!

This film would never fly today. You got an alcoholic drinking beer right from the can in front of children in this movie.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

You do raise a good point there, especially considering how they literally rendered a scene with him driving the children while he was drunk behind the wheel without any of them wearing a seatbelt. This was before the bill for The National Minimum Drinking Age took into effect though, with media portrayal towards alcohol being in portrayed in a more innocuous light. They even shown kids smoking Tobacco, lol.

I suppose you wouldn't consider Field of Dreams to be a regular baseball movie, but for me, it captured the magic of baseball in a unique and touching way.

If we are going by the textbook definition of what the key components of what signifies a Baseball movie, then it fits the criteria. Despite that, the sole focus around the ball in that movie wasn’t entirely about baseball. Nonetheless, it was certainly worth the catch. I may have to rewatch it now.

Not big on sports movies, but I love this one.
Matthau is superb as the boozing coach, the kids talk like real kid's do, complete with offensive language and opinions, and the energy is electric.
Billy Bob Thornton is one of my favorite actors, but even he could not make me see the remake/sequel…whatever it was.
