Played a lot of checkers as a kid.
Learned chess as a teenager.
Have never gone back to checkers.

I was a great Chinese Checkers player.
Developed a strategy that was unbeatable.
While my opponent slowly moved each marble forward a step at a time, I used my first moves to build a single line that, once in place, allowed me to leap-frog over every marble to my destination in a single move. Had everything in place while they were still scattered around the board.
Eventually, I couldn't find more opponents.
