Or not totally ruined, but they get thinner and some pants (they are a bit old though) are almost see through at some parts. I've also had to throw away a couple of tops because they got completely stretched out. The problem started when I moved here and started using the washing machine that was shaking when it was spinning. It doesn't shake anymore though because a wooden board was placed between the washing machine and the kitchen countertop. Do you think there's still something wrong with the washing machine and that the clothes get ruined because the washing machine used to shake (I didn't wash clothes in it when it was shaking). Or do you think there's something else I'm doing wrong.?

I’m not an expert but I don’t think the shaking would have affected them much but some materials are more prone to damage than others. Maybe put them in those washer bags so it’s gentler on them.
Did the plumber fit the board?

Ok, I didn't wash the clothes in the washing machine when it was shaking though but I thought maybe the shaking could have ruined the washing machine somehow, though it still seems to work like it used to. The spin is on like low too. But maybe I could try using washer bags as well. And yea, the plumber fixed the shaking issue by placing a wooden board between the washing machine and the kitchen countertop.

That’s good that he fixed the shaking at least.
You can use pillowcases as washing bags instead of buying some 😊

              1. the board is absorbing the vibrations so the problem isnt really fixed just disguised. the rotor is unbalanced OR you overloaded the machine and this caused the unbalance. have the landlord look into this.
              2. try washing the clothes on the "gentle" cycle or the "permanent press" cycle if the machine doesnt have "gentle" option
              3. time for new clothes if the ones you have getting thin and see-throughish
edit==>> the brit below raised the point about the imbalance so this is board consensus about the problem

It's funny you mention that because my washer recently started to have a mind of its own and I've noticed some underwear and tshirts will have random little holes in them. Maybe it's the misalignment of the drum causing damage to the clothes because they're snagging on the machine somewhere as it spins.

How often are you doing a wash?

As often as I used to before I moved here and the washing machine started shaking.
