This is one of those neurotically preternatural, manic-depressive romantic dramas, starring a youthful version of John Cusack with the hair gel before his golden era. It’s glossed over because of the uncanny visuals, with it being an underrated work of art. Who remembers this movie?

Richard Linklater directed Everybody Wants Some!!! (2016), and it's set in the 1980s, the same decade Better Off Ted came out.

Yeah. Dazed and Confused (1993) is better. Matthew McConaughey is awesome as usual and I love that line of his:
