No it doesn’t. I never said that because 1917 was nominated for a bunch of Academy Awards it’s a great movie. Being nominated for and winning awards isn’t an objective measurement for the objective quality of a particular film. Often times great movies do get nominated and they do win just like often times bad movies get nominated and win. 1917 just so happens to be one of those great movies that got nominated for Best Picture.

I said it is cool people who liked it. I dunno why it is an argument.
The ****ing argument is that it’s a great movie. Don’t do that it’s cool if people like it **** with me, ok? I’ll kill someone ok? -

lol Don't worry about it Russell. Some people want to argue just to argue.
That’s sad, but it's also unfortunately true. I’m curious about what they were trying to say, however.

It really isn't. The cinematography is lovely and that is about it. Once people stop fan boying over it and really look at the story impartially they will realize other war movies have done it better. Much much better. See I can play that game too if you really want to argue. I usually don't because taste is subjective. Since you are a special case I made an exception
Fortunately for me the night was not all lost. I watched Ford v Ferrari again. A far far better movie. Christian Bale was robbed of an Oscar nod. He is more deserving then the Joker idiot.
The story isn't supposed to be anything extraordinary, just two soldiers going from point A to point B trying to prevent an entire company of soldiers from being massacred.
Taste may be subjective, but the qualities of a movie aren't. This movie isn't a movie focusing on story or focusing on characters, it's a technical achievement that is a brutal and realistic depiction of WWI. It's like Dunkirk in that way. Just a movie meant to showcase the horrors of war. And in that regard, it did a phenomenal job.
