My answer depends on what kind of western.
Frex: a revisionist western is not the same as a studio western. A big six western is not the same as a poverty row studio western.
There's "oaters", and there's "horse operas". Neo-westerns. 'Survival' westerns.
Shoot-em-Ups. Comedy westerns. Western horror.
Spaghetti westerns, of course.
Civil War westerns.
Historical westerns (which attempt at being historically accurate).
Biopic westerns. I can even name some prison-escape westerns.
Many fine distinctions qualify how I respond.
